Miniature recommendations for Arkham Horror board game?

Hi folks:

I'm wondering if anyone from this thread could make some recommendations for 28mm miniatures for the investigators from the Arkham Horror board game.  I know they make prepainted plastic miniatures for the game, but I'm old school and would prefer painting up my own from some better quality metal/resin figures.

Some fella painted up a large assortment of Pulp miniatures for his Arkham Horror game, they are not 1:1 fits but pretty nice nevertheless.

Baaaaaad idea. Clutter was incredible.

Alternative - Foundry Gentlemen (Victoriana Miniatures : Victoriana Single Pack); Add a cane to one of these gentleman and I should get a good match
