Crypt/Ossuary - Completed 11/3/2013
« on: January 08, 2013, 11:02:03 PM »
Alongside the BB pitch I've also started work on an underground crypt/ossuary as part of another commission.

Here is where it is at so far:

There is more information on my blog: http://intergalacticgames.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/tales-from-crypt-pt-1.html

Also, just wanted to add that the cobblestone floors are from our very own Lazy Forger, Sangennaru. I purchased some molds from him a while ago and have had a bit of fun with them so far... anyway, here is what they look like when I pull them out of the mold:

I do a fair bit of work to file them into shape, cutting off/sawing away the excess.

More to come soon (I've only got until the end of Jan to make it!)...

Nice; love to see where this is going. 8)

And those moulds are exactly what I've been looking for! Were they a one-off, or does Sangennaru sell them commercially?

You might have to ask him about the details on the molds. I think I have permission to sell casts, though... *cough*

Here is the latest update. Not a heck of a lot of progress done on this, but it sure feels like it!

Latest pics are on the blog, but here's a bit of a teaser:

I've included some detailed shots of the interior work so far, and my set up for casting from the moulds.

Enjoy!

Once again I must say this is great. The colour effect on the walls is truly atmospherical, I love it!

Wo hoo! Nice to see finally my moulds in action! great thing indeed!

But i REALLY suggest you to do new moulds, avoiding the huge bulk of plaster. Actually you can even do that pouring less plaster in the mould you have, so you will have a thinner piece at the end. Which is solid enough if glued on... anything!
Like i did in this article, a year and more ago:
http://www.thelazyforger.com/tutorials/how-to-ruined-cobblestone-tiles/

You might have to ask him about the details on the molds. I think I have permission to sell casts, though... *cough*

Ok, looks here there was some kind of misunderstanding: i sold you the complete rights about this pieces, which means that not only you are allowed to do whatever you want with those, but also i cannot sell them to anyone! I just kept for me a mould of them for my personal use (i used them casting a very thin layer of resin for making the bases of my british commandos (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=50604.0), but i would never sell them!

Nice; love to see where this is going. 8)

Before selling the mould i sold quite a lot of them around this forum, but i didn't see a single piece in action... looks like the resin mountains are used to grow as the lead ones!
But now i'm developing a range of "panels" of various periods, sizes and scopes, here are some previews (at the moment i'm quite busy with another commission!)
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=50604.0

Again, Christian i'm very curious about what you will do with that! Shure looks great!

Va bene, Giac. Thanks for that :) I'll be looking into how to get these into production, but it will probably take me a little while to get around it.

So, here are some photos of where I'm up to:

Soon, I'll get started on the exterior! :)

Marco

ahaha, i've been selling resin pieces around since three years from now, of course i've seen quite some around! I was referring to that cobblestone pavement. I sold 120 + tiles, and this is the first one i've seen painted!

thanks for your support, Remgain! :)

The crypt is (in the better sense!) gloomy and creepy ;). Really love it! Nice! :)
