I've been flogging off all my old Games Workshop stuff over the years but I've held on to all the classical mythical beasties just in case I ever got round to doing a 'Greek Pulp' setting. The new rules sound ideal.

David has these tips for the sea:

"Dead easy.

I just fill the area with cheap filler and shape it for a few waves or whatever look you are after. I then give it a heavy coat of pva glue to soften the edges of the filler.

When that is dry I paint it. In this case a loverly blue but do it how you like. I often use the ground colour that I used for the terrain the river is ruining through and then add a bit of green and black for the feeling of depth.

I then give it a quick dry brush- heavier near the shore line to make it look like it is shallow.

Finally a coat or two of gloss varnish."

Exploding Youth - The cliffs are plaster casts taken from a number of Woodland Scenics rock molds. David at TM days he uses them all the time and are very good. There is lots of detail on them so take washes and dry brushes very well. The plaster is dental plaster so drys very hard and picks up the detail.

Ah yes. I have used these before they are most excellent. Makes for a heavy board though

Bloody hell, Karl! :-*

Good thing that you two seem to have a lot of spare storage space for all those marvellous terrain boards ;)

Cool!!! I've just recently been wanting to get into Greek Myth gaming and this fits the ticket! So, what scale figs are the rules designed for and how many figs necessary? Any more info?

Yet another amazing looking board for you exceptionally lucky Crooked Dice guys!!!
I'm sure half the reason you keep posting them is too make the rest of us green with envy! (Its bloody well working by the way!)
How on earth do you decide who gets to keep the boards? Obviously they are for demos and the such and do a fantastic job of promoting your products but you can't seriously expect us to believe that you don't both want to take them home to play on or just look pretty on the sideboard?  I imagine the two of you rolling up the shirt sleeves and bashing each other into submission
Any info that you can share about 7th Voyage rules or planned miniatures would be hugely appreciated

Cheers all!

I'm the terrain nut out of the two of us. I already have a loft full - but I've pretty much reached capacity now! Although I might convert the garage...

Axabrax/Elk - 7th Voyage is built on the same principles as 7TV. Quick play fun aimed at getting you to relive some of those cinematic moments you've always loved rather than gritty realism.

Where as the modern-setting of 7TV lends itself to ranged combat, 7th Voyage has a little more emphasis on melee - so there are some extra rules covering swordplay and swashbuckling. There is also a simple Magic system, Gifts From the Gods (Magic items with mechanics akin to 7TV's Gadget cards) and the usual Event cards to give your games a cinematic spin.

Our core action engine rules have had a bit of a retune, clarifying a few grey areas and generalling tightening up which I'm really pleased with.

In regards to scale, generally we work around 28mm, but it scales up and down from 40mm to 15mm without losing anything - and most discerning gamers would be able to adjust the ranges to fit.

You don't need more than six to eight figures a side for regular games, but as with 7TV you can scale this up for larger games as required.

There are already lots of figure ranges out the to chose from, so we've no plans to produce our own at present, although I'll try and twist Graeme's arm for the odd personality model ;) We already have our larger resin Argonaut and Talos models from 7TV which might be useful.

http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/product-tag/argonauts/

If this sells well, then we have ideas for a further couple of supplements/scenario packs too.

I'll start up a new thread with more details? What board would folks suggest? Fantasy or Age of Myths?

This terrain board would look really good for a Raiders of the Lost Arc pulp game too.
