Best Board at Salute (IMHO)
« on: April 22, 2012, 06:21:09 PM »
Here's a few pictures of a very nice board I saw at Salute 2012 this week end. Please note, I had nothing to do with this board, and never got a chance to speak to anybody who did, so I have no idea who made what, or what's scratch built etc. The scale is 28mm, and the figures are, I think, Empress and Red Star.

The board was presented at Salute by Chemins de feu and was entitled Slowing the Tide (Baltic War 2nd April-2nd May 2009). For me it stood out as being one of teh best boards at Salute, and there was some stiff compertition. I don't know if any of you guys know who made this, but If they have a blog or a website I would love to see it.

Christian and Eric of Redstar Miniatures are part of the Chemins De Feu club. They must have lost track of the number of awards they've won over the years for heir games.

I think the skips and bins are from Pardulon, the container, judging from the dimensions is from Rackhams AT43.
Not only a beautiful looking table, but it looks very playable for a few diffent genres.
Top stuff

One of the bits of terrain looks like a respirator filter? Is that right? Great terrain reminds me of COD

Yes, I hadn't noticed either, until Eric (one of the Red Star guys) pointed it out to me saturday.
Apparently the scenery is built by the other man, Christian, who also scratchbuilt the streetcar  :o
