IMHO I think ihmn needs its own sub-board
« on: 07 September 2013, 09:56:55 AM »
When I logged in for my morning's VSF Adventures fix, the first seven posts were all about IHMN.

Now I have no problem with this and this isn't a complaint; I've got the rules myself and intend playing them.

I just think it would be easier if all the info was in one place to make it easier to find in the future, like the Strange Aeons and Atomic Cafe sub-boards.

Thoughts?

The problem with sub-boards is that they generally only get read by people who already like and/or play the game.

The advantage of being in the open is that people who may not have/want to play IHMN can still enjoy the VSF AAR's, pictures of painted VSF figures and other stuff this very creative group post.

I would vote against placing IHMN in its own little ghetto...

A child board would be in the open and at the top of the board, can't get more visible than that. Other systems have them on here and it works fine.

Ghetto is probably the wrong word to use...

I think someone already touched the question but... isn't possible to add a TAG system on LAF?

I think a sub board is a good idea. We'd all know where to ask for advice on other peoples solutions and guidance.
After all, in the end if you don't like a rule or have come up with something else you want to share, then we can all knick it! (I mean choose whether to employ it or not) ;)

That doesn't sound so bad. Would all previous IHMN threads then be moved to the sub-board?

I am waiting onAmazon to ship rules (and supplement - hence the wait) and I would appreciate a sub-board when the rules arrive.

Gracias,

Glenn

I think a child board is the answer.

Strange Aeons has one and is very popular amongst fans, and others who dont own the system can still take a look and become converts.

It certainly seems to work that way.

At the very least IHMN needs a 'sticky' for Q&A stuff as that type of post has started to dominate the VSF board.

Just My Thoughts.

Again NOT A COMPLAINT, as I do love the game itself.

Of course, just because it's big now doesn't mean there will be enough posts in the future to keep a sub-board going. History shows us that once sub-boards are created, they are nigh impossible to remove.  ::)

Not that I'm opposed to the idea at all! As someone with zero interest in the game mechanics there have been an irritating amount of threads about rules which just get in the way. On the other hand the threads containing photos of people's teams (warbands?) are rather neat, be a shame to miss those out of the wider VSF stream.

Maybe the LAF needs a board dedicated to rules questions and development more generally?

This sums up my feelings pretty well.

Maybe a 'sticky' thread for IHMN rules queries....?

That way the eye candy is still easily noticed and appreciated by all.
