Alamo in 40mm at Salute by Gringo40s

just a bit of pre-emptive info..i will be putting on a Huge Alamo game in

40mm to conicide with the release of my 40mm Alamo range. the Alamo

is being built by the talented David Marshall/TM terrain...rules by Rich

CLarke Too Fat Lardies.........would love to see some of our LAF members

there as i will be running my Gringo40s stand as well!. all offers of help

appreciated on the day!! to join in or even just watch.

the Alamo was finished today....the last of the 800 figures (cicra) are

painted...just need basing .........all other "bits and pieces" coming

into place......rules written......see as many LAF guys as possible there!

though i may well be "embedded" in my stand so to speak!

Hi. New member here, but one who had a great time at Salute last weekend.

Why???  Well, having collected Gringo40s for over a year now, I've got to know Ged, and he very kindly invited me to take part in the Alamo game.

I'd never been to Salute before, and I have to say that taking part in the game has made it one of the best wargaming days I've ever had.  An absolutely brilliant day.

Imagine having a game with over 800 40mm figures on your side. If you haven't seen them, take a look at the advertisements or on the web.  Beautifully sculpted, and they paint up a treat.

My claim to fame on the day was leading my Mexicans over the walls of the Alamo, and it was MY MEN who killed Davy Crockett.  Can't get much better than that can it?

Also on display were Gringo's other American ranges in 28mm.  Tha Maximillian Adventure figures in particular have to be seen to be believed.  On the cards is another range for the future - the Spanish-American war of the 1890s.

Absolutely mind blowing were the new range of Mayans and coquistadores.  Beautifully sculpted and painted.  I gather that Aztecs will be making an appearance some time in the future.

So Salute - a brilliant show and I look forward to next year.

That looks bloody impressive Ged. All the more so when you realise it's 40mm! I'd have love to have just seen this never mind gamed on it. I've got to be there for next year's show, especially if it's Mesoamerican based! Cheers, Steve.
