During the holidays I had a break from work and school and I was able to do a bit of painting.

Some robots to support my security team. These are EM4 miniatures. The smaller one's are Mark 1 support robots while the larger ones are Mark 2 assault robots. The theory is that the smaller ones stand off and provide fire support, while the larger ones can engage in close support and potentially rescue hostages, etc.

I think I am done with blue for a while...

I finished another miniature, this was a Christmas present.  I didn't realize how large this miniature was until I saw it IRL.

The lighting was off, so the highlights are not showing properly.

I found these guys in a bits box at a local game shop.  I also used this opportunity to try out the Steel-Catwalk Grating Base Stamp from Happy Seppuku (odd name) that I received for Christmas.  I used green stuff on the bases and then pressed the stamp into the base. I found the green stuff a little tough to work with, and it was challenging for me to get an even surface, so some of my initial tries are a little warped.

Anyway they are now ready to run around my space hulk and get all feral on some poor salvage crew.

The next batch are smaller 25mm bases and I used some old milliput I found in the back of my workbench.  I found the milliput a bit easier to work with. One of the tricks is to figure out how much pressure to use when pressing the base into the stamp.  Too little pressure and I didn't get a clear impression.  Too much pressure and it was very deep and "wobbly".

After letting the bases dry, I trimmed off the excess milliput and here are the results.

Any suggestions on getting clear, crisp impressions are always welcome!

Great work on all these models.  Both the sculpting and paint is very impressive.  Looks like some fun times will be had with these.

The painting on those wolves is fantastic! I'd hate to see those coming around the corner in a Space Hulk. The idea of feral dogs in a Spoace Hulk is really cool. The bases are very effective too. The hex shaped one brought a smile.

Summer classes have ended, so I had a moment to paint up these guys. The bases are from the previous WIP post.  I added a wash of GW Gryphonne Sepia and it gave it a nice rusty look. I'm rather pleased how the bases turned out.

And here is some close up's of the little monsters.

Next I think I will have to paint up some larger relatives of these guys. This was my first time ever painting an ork :)

I'm trying to work my way through the lead pile accumulated on my paint tray. Up next were a few odds and ends as well as some Hasslefree minis I received last Christmas.

The "not-Fred" was a freebie tossed in by the good people at Hasslefree and I was at a loss on what to do with him, so I painted him up as a lab-tech.

Here the lab techs can be seen in their lab checking out a newly discovered piece of tech being moved into the area by an Itoyo 950 cargo bot under the supervision of She-3P0, protocol droid and lab assistant.

Two more items are off the work bench!  I have had these things for a while. I found them in a bits box at a FLGS while I was in the USA.  I don't recall who made them or what they are called.  Here they are as I found them and after I primed them:

After a quick paint job:

Having escaped the confines of the cargo area of the ship, they are being shepherded back to the cargo area by Engineer Jones and her big wrench.

I'm not quite sure how to imagine them for game play. Docile, brainless critters or something else.  Any suggestions?

They look like GW figures. I will give the lizard man chariot a look.

The Holidays gave me a chance to pick up the paint brush, so I had an opportunity to start on some Assault on Black Reach Orks I have had for a long time.

The First Squad

A closeup of some of the "boyz".

The Runt Herd from the previous Gretchin I painted and a few others I found in a bit box. I did a head swap on two of them.

as great as ever, I've no doubt - but pics look a bit under-exposed - on my monitor at least.

Thank you for the kind words Bloggard!

You are right, they do look a bit dark.  I tried to tweak them a bit and uploaded them again.  Let me know if that helps!
