Some Pulp Greens (Pics of first casts 17/4)
« on: 30 January 2013, 11:36:17 PM »
I'm currently making a bunch of pulp greens although I'm not sure if they'll ever go anywhere.
I'll add more as they are completed.

Obviously a tough guy.

An lady who means business. More Spy-fi than pulp.

An intrepid explorer. He might need a hat.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Those greens look very nice, I wish I had a fraction of your talent so that I could make some of my own. I can only use green stuff to fill gaps... :)

Nice work all around but I really like the third figure. I don't think he need a hat though 8)

Very nice, although I do agree, the lady is later than classic pulp in appearance, more spy-fi.

Bald intrepid explorer does fine without a hat, I think.

About the only thing I've ever successfully made out of greenstuff is flags, so well done anyone who manages to actually sculpt with the stuff!

Top work! A Bob Murch vibe on the first one.

The pose on the female is a little odd, though.

I love the aged explorer. No need for a hat, but what about a separate one as an option?

Keep it up!

P.S. Whatever happened to those Welsh figures?

Thanks for the kind replies folks.
I'm getting through these guys pretty quickly now (a few are waiting for final bits and pieces) and here is another one:

Knuckles McDougle

P.S. Whatever happened to those Welsh figures?

I sold them to Sergeant Major Miniatures but I don't know what they intend to do with them. They may have been released but I'm not sure.

Knuckles is great, in that his pose is very dynamic.  These all have a little bit of a Bob Murch feel to them.

This is some good stuff. As someone has already commented, they are similar in style to Pulp Figures. I think they would be very comparable with Bob's stuff.

I like Tough Guy, the Intrepid Explorer and Knuckles, they're full of character. The Explorer would look good in an (optional) pith helmet or bowler.  :)

Loving these guys. Agree they are very similar in style to Mr. Murch's stuff and that is no bad thing. Looking forward to seeing more.

great looking figs.

Ever think of giving the old explorer a lantern?  Not a flashlight, but an old lantern?

I like the small gun the woman has.  Is that supposed to be a PPK?  Maybe if you looked up women's fashion for the era you are shooting for you'd get a better pulp feel for her.
