Beautiful paint jobs. I am particularly in love with those marines. I really need to pick some up at the next convention now.

About basing: The plain green bases work for me for some reason. I think they work better on the soldiers than the pirates. It's almost like they're Old School Gamer Bases, like the Britains bases, in their plain green scheme. So your bases imply that sort of jolly carefree style of play, while being of the modern style of sculpting.

Does that make any sense? It makes sense to me.

It makes sense to me too.

Should I start worrying?

That's beautiful!! So clean and crisp. I'll have to get some of the tiles as they work really well. Where are the buildings from?

The buildings are all from Hovels. Reaaly nice, good range and easy to get a nice finish on.

Thank you all for the very kind comments and support in my hour of basing need, which I can report is looking promising. I tried a combination donated by Dave Rowbotham an so far it seems to work, fingers crossed  :)

Yes, the adobe buidlings are from Hovels too. Unfortunately I have no idea where the boat is from. David Imrie left it behind after a Dark Ages game a while ago and it seemed to fit in so I used it.

The dock system is from Ainsty now owned by Old Crow Models

Quick question for Pat or anywhere here who might know.  I am looking to pick up some of the dock pieces, but both the catwalk and the large jetty have additional purchase options for supports (specifically catwalk supports and jetty supports).  Are these additions included in your pictures of the docks, which look great and I intend to emulate, or are they some other features?  I don't find the picturea (where available) to be very helpful in separating out which is which. I am thinking the supports might be under pieces or they might be the poles attached to the dock themselves. I don't know.  Also, would anyone know the difference between the large jetty and the large floating jetty. Thanks.

Don't know if I can help but I've bought various pieces fro Ainsty\Old Crow over the years - including some of these.

I think it's a mix of four Ainsty sets - 2621 (Large wooden Jetty), 2622 (Catwalk pieces), 2623 (Catwalk Support) and 2625 (Large floating Jetty).

The basic Catwalk System (2622) doesn't have the supports beneath them - for that you need the Catwalk Supports (2623) to give it the elevation.

Not entirely sure about the Large Wooden Jetty but it's the only one not pictured anywhere else - although I think it might be shown in 2619 on the OC site.

My other guess-  based on the price - is that 2621 might be a combination of a couple of those sets in a single blister.[/i]
