Started a New Dux Britanarium Campaign
« on: February 12, 2013, 04:10:32 PM »
My group in Atlanta is starting a multi-player Dux Britanarium campaign.  We got in our first game last Saturday.  It was a classic example of how to loose a game in detail.  But I had a great time while watching my poor Saxons get beaten.

I would post a few pictures here but almost all of the ones I took were very poor quality.

So, how are you handling the multiplayer aspect? Sounds interesting...

Chris,
We're running a six player campaign as well. Three Saxon and three Romano British players.
Each RB player controls two provinces in North England. Of course once he loses both it's game over for him.
So far one of the Saxons made Warlord but lost heavily in his first battle. Out for 9 months. The other Saxon is now ready for a land grab and the thrird still needs to do a succesful raid.
One of the RB players has already upgraded a Levy unit to warrior and added a unit of skirmishers to his army. he also has a priest helping him out.
The other RB player has a priest as well and two additional warriors in one unit.
I've chosen North England,Rheged, Coriosoptimum, Caer Brogwm and so in anticipation of the Raiders supplement. Then the Irish, Scotti and Picts will also be able to raid these provinces and it will become quite hectic.

We are using the additions concerning industry and  fortifications as suggested in the 2012  TFL Summer Special.

Have fun!

I will be using the 'Meaty Dux' addendum as well.  I am also using the Northern Britain kingdoms.  Lots of opportunities.

Would it be uncool to TFL to ask someone for an extract of these additional DB rules?

I'm not averse to giving TFL my money for the Summer Special, but I'm only into DB at the moment and there's a lot of content about their other rules sets that I don't need.  I just don't want the clutter.

But if you guys say, "Go for it; it's worth it." then I'll order it.

Both the Summer and Winter 2012 Specials have a couple articles about Dux in them.  They are worth the purchase.  There is a Viking mini-supplement involved that adds peasant levy as a troop type.  There are articles on migrating Dux to mainland Europe as well.  Then there is another scenario type for raids.  Good stuff.
