« on: 06 March 2013, 08:04:35 PM »
Gents

thought you might like to know i am in the process of having sculpted

a vast new 28mm Mesoamerica range for the 16th century commencing

with the neglected Mayans who along with some Conquistadors will be

released at Salute.all neglected tribes as well as the two big players

Aztecs and indians will be covered plus artillery ..baggae trains ...and

other ancillary pieces.

Gringo 40's 28mm Mayan warriors

Painted by the very talented Andrew Taylor

Excellent figures and a good start to what promises to be an extensive range

Did Mayans go into battle with such little clothing? Genuine question, I don't know so much about them in warfare compared to the Aztecs.

Looking forward to these. Of course, Salute is a few thousand miles too far for me to get to so I would appreciate if pictures and more info were posted soon afterwards.

Please and thank you.  :)

thanks for the interest chaps...the Huaxtec which  these Mayan branch are based on were fond of fighting naked...but not all, the Aztecs thought this pretty crude and looked down their noses at them as well as fearing them, and often ambused em with odds of 10/1
in their favour!! :o
basically these were the "nutter" mayans..filed teeth.cranial deformation was practised. i had to do these first. Hildresd.lance ,  Sir Barnaby there will be mounted conquistadors and a crossbowman nexr for the "white Gods"
to types of artillery are in the mix..and much more 8)
