Not sure if anyone here is as interested in Hobgoblins as me, but Hodag Games has a small but growing line of Hobgoblins now- available from Gorgon-Studios.com

These look very good. Maybe found a nice opponent for my CP models Dwarf empire army. Wonder if they'll have these at adepticon in April.

Why do hobgoblins look like chinese? I've never understood that. Nice models but way to clean and uniform to be goblinoids in my view.

Also the D&D prepainted miniatures have hobgoblins in "old chinese" look...
These miniatures are very good!!!

they are nice I had considered using them to invade the Land of Oz but at the moment there are only archers. Anyone know if they plan to add to the collection?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

To me they have more of a Mongolian look...which is certainly a look that GW promoted for its various hobs as well.

For Hobgoblins in D&D style I prefer Otherworld, but these would work well for some other Forgotten Realms race, like planar types or Water Genasi.

These guys fit one of my fantasy settings many different orc breeds! thanks for the reminder that they exist.
Didn't know they were a newer line, I hope we'll see more of them pretty soon.

Those are compellingly, refreshingly nice.  Might be a bit pricey to ship over though, so definitely a "some day" thing.

Why do hobgoblins look like chinese?

I think goblinoid hordes (also orcs and gobbos) have often been depicted as similar to mongols, very often even as tribes inhabiting eastern areas of the given world, from where they pour forth. Especially GW did this a lot, the fur-brimmed helmet/cap being a common trait on earlier sculpts.

I don't see any other particular reason - and I also would prefer hobgoblins in a more rag-tag generic fantasy style.

I must say, I don't like these a lot. Nothing overall wrong with the quality of the sculpts, but they strike me more as some kind of pulp lost world/retro sci-fi race than a kind of goblinoids (and it's not because of the skin colour). Not my cup of tea.

Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
