The club got together last month to play Open Combat, the new fast-play skirmish ruleset written by a former GW creative. Check out this thread for some thoughts about Open Combat: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=73128.0

But if you just wanna see some pretty pics from the game, see below! My dwarves fought it out with Tim's fishmen in the dim stone halls of the dungeon. The layout was constructed from Dwarven Forge Game Tiles, which I picked up in last year's Kickstarter.

Impressive pics! Looks like it was a fun game...  :-*
The big fishmen look very cool.

More reinforcements! I recently finished up some field artillery for my Kings of War dwarf army. The organ gun and small cannon are the Mantic plastic kits, paired up with some gun crew figures from Ral Partha.

Hmmm, now that I see these pics, I think I need to go back and bore out the barrels with my pin vise.

And here's a shot of the gun crew.

These artillery pieces are prepainted units from MageKnight -- I just popped them off the clicky bases and glued them onto something more appropriate. Cheap and easy!

This one is HUGE!

And here's a bombard or mortar or something.

Very nice. Love the skin colour. All dwarfs should be like this really if they are hole dwellers.
I'd just paint black circles instead of using the pin vice. Much quicker.

Nice!
That's a fearsome set of artillery!

As I remember them, the Ral Partha Dwarfs were exceptionally tiny little Guys. As such your brushwork is EVEN MORE impressive. The Lads lack of stature make the artillery look truly potent. GREAT WORK!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Ha! What you call "tiny" i call "actual knees and elbows," Nala!

The flesh color looks a bit washed out in these photos. It's Reaper Elf Flesh and it has a faint pinkish hue. Still you're right that under-dwellers ought not to have robust tanned faces. :-)

Great cloaks on those guys! And the metal helms look sweet to top them off.

Thanks, Jevenkah!

More reinforcements ... just an assortment of dwarves, ready to take to the battlefield. Again, photo is slightly washed out.

Despite the machinations of an uncooperative camera, the Little Fellows look TERRIFIC...brushwork & bases are SPLENDID. GREAT WORK!
I haven't seen much of the Ghost miniatures before; they are really quite nice.

Excellent work.  I'm not sure I've ever seen any other pictures of Painted "Ghost miniatures" dwarves.

They're from the same product line as those boar riders...I think Ghost Miniatures are just rebranded/repackaged Old Glory? Is that correct?

Ghost miniatures is one of Old Glory's home brands/lines, kind of like the "Revenge" packaging that some Medieval's I purchased came in.  If you buy them today they still might come in Ghost miniatures packaging with "Old Glory" in small letters on the back of the bag header.

Really nice, I'd forgotten about the Ghost Minature line.  They really do look good.
