Beutepanzer section

In Normandy, the US paratroopers didn't meet Tigers but Beutepanzer. I painted 3 french tanks for my Normandy games, one Pzkpfw 39H (f) and two Pzkpfw 35R (f). The tanks are from AGN Miniatures.

I didn't  paint any camo as it seems that the tanks from the Panzer Abteilung 100 didn't have one.

Could you please explain how you achieve this finish (what paint colour etc.) as I'm looking at some French AFVs for the Artic Circle. Actually anything related with the Finnish and German Forces.

I think if I ever do WW2 Germans, I will do reservists with Beutepanzers, like you have done.

I first paint a basecoat usually dark brown, then I painted a first layer ( Vallejo Desert yellow / 977 ). I paint the tracks in gun metal or dark silver and once it's dry I wash them with a mix of brown / chestnut ink.  Then I paint a second layer with a mix of Desert yellow and Vallejo Iraqi sand.

I use a fine brush with flesh ink and I painted a thin lines around details or large ones (like rust ). Then I highlight the angles with Iraqi sand.

I put the decals (Veni Vidi Vici) and I varnish the tank. finally I add some vallejo smoke effects and some dirt patches.
