Fireforge announced their next army will be Mongols with lighter cavalry in plastic and heavy cavalry in resin.
I can only find this rather poor photo.

There are a few details here

They looked very good in 3-up form. Much better than their medieval crusades stuff. Less cartoony / GW-style. Very promising I'd say, although sometimes the figures do lose something when they're shrunk down to their actual size from the 3-up...

Resin? That is odd.

Pretty cool, looking forward to some better pics if they exist!

How exactly are sculpts shrunk down to size from the 3-up?  I always wondered that...

Knew nothing of these until the Capt. mentioned them last night.  Most interesting plastics for my personal tastes so far, I will keep an eye on their progress and may even dip into some non lead malarky.

Timbor, the moulds have to be cut by following the masters and it is done with a pantograph. By having larger masters it simplifies the operation immensely.  It would probably be impossible to use a 28mm figure actually, especially if being done by hand, like all walks of life computers have become prominent.  Having said that I once saw a couple of guys in a Chinese factory cutting moulds freehand - no master at all, just reference pictures and they were having to cut the negative image too - absolutely jaw dropping amazing.

Good point, they would make much better Easterlings than that GW rubbish, but I was thinking of using them as Nadir (from David Gemmell's Drenai tales), which is a planned future project.

Will have to keep half an eye on these fellas....

Interesting, but why not go for Arabs to oppose their crusaders? Wouldnt that also with their Deus Vult rules and mean both sides wee affordable to build?

Plus with the new Saga, they'd have sold even more  lol

Presumably because they started with Teutonic Knights who fought the Mongols. Maybe they'll follow up with saracens in a future release.

Mongolians are a logical choice. They can face any models Fireforge have already released.
After all, they showed up in the Holy Land and to fight the Teutonic Knights.

Then when Fireforge does bring out Saracens they can fight the Mongolians too.  :D
