They looked very good in 3-up form. Much better than their medieval crusades stuff. Less cartoony / GW-style.

When I saw them I thought of your criticisms of the knight horses - bony heads etc. :) With these I thought they tried to fix that and went too far in the other direction. I'll have to take another look at mongolian-type horses, but I feel the heads are filled out too much - kind of blobby and more cartoony. And then there's the odd shoulders on one of them.

Apart from that the entire minis look pretty good, but 'that' is a fairly big deal from my POV!

Shoot me if you want but I definitely wanted the Arabs to be the next release.I think it more logical that you release the armies that are in the book!
Everyone wants Arabs as they are such a varied and interesting army. They can be used for so many different theatres of war but it seems we have to wait for 2 or 3 waves of Mongols before getting a sniff of Saladins men..looks like a year or so which I feel is criminal :? :'(
That said I do think the figures look great and will obviously make many of you happy bunnies.
I'm wishing I held fire on the rules and the Crusaders as they'll have no enemy for a while yet

It also seems that more of you are excited by the prospect of using the Mongols as figures in a different sphere of wargaming rather than for the ruleset they were intended..bah humbug

I will open tonight a discussion on Fireforge's official forum (if anyone will do the same first than me) about this to explain the view of our work about the choice of mongols

We in Fireforge are always open to discuss about every question from our fans or customers :)

Do bare in mind that they're extremely straightforward and not thaat very chocking (unless you count the late Gammels view on women). Still an alright read and I enjoyed them when I was 16.
And now since I couldn't resist the audiobooks. At the last book now :)

Of course people want Saracens, I will look forward to seeing them too.
But just look at how excited people are for these Mongolians!

Silversixx:
Nothing wrong with a bit of Gemmell, mate.
I reread ALL of his books last year and found that I enjoyed some of them more than I remembered from the last time around.
(For some of them, that would have been 15-20 years ago and I was not that impressed at the time. Dont count the Drenai tales in that catagory, though. I have always loved them!)

Oh I know, I have read them before, and they are all quite formulaic. That said I love them and indeed Legend made the young me realise reading was indeed a worthy activity.

I do hope they will produce dismounted versions of the Mongols as well!
