Hi all
having had a great game of FIW yesterday I decided to look bigger tonight and as my wife says ... I can game as long as I have done the painting I was intending to get done during the day.
Great eh!!!
I went for a Greek wars game of Spartans v Athenians for a Boeotian city.

SPARTANS....2 ELITE PHALANXES ,2 SMALL PHALANXES ,A MESSENIAN PHALANX ,A SMALL UNIT OF ROYAL GUARDS ,archers ,slingers ,Thesselain cavalry.
ATHENIANS...6 PHALANXES OF DIFFERENT CITY'S ,ATHENIAN CAVALRY ,VARIOUS EKDROMOI.
The game was played using the Hail Caesar rules from the Biblical Supplement and played out really well.
The Spartans though were just too tough with their Elite phalanxes and the Athenian's ended up having to retreat back into the city after a brave fight of it. I do like the control section of these rules as during the battle many units unfortunately failed to move making the game real fun.
