Bolt Action games for unequal forces
« on: 03 May 2013, 11:12:25 AM »
I've had some fine games of Bolt Action pitting my chosen list against my opponents chosen list, but I've wanted to play less symmetrical games, where one side has a clear superiority and the inferior force maybe has to only hold on to an objective. Maybe unexpected things happen in the game.

I've put together a set of simple modifications to play unbalanced forces and to include random events.

We played out a game yesterday evening and it worked out very well.

I've summarised the rules on the

Scrivsland blog and also done a battle report of how the game played out.

Now that's much more my cup of tea Paul. I'd be happy to get involved in a game/campaign on that basis

Your Idea is good. I hope that Bolt Action will not degenerate to a tournament system like flames of war. But for a company a tournament system brings more money I think

Some great ideas there, I like the random event chart.

Good to see Bolt Action being used correctly, mind you some of the things I see on the Warlord forum do make chuckle if nothing else. The LMG one is a classic.

If you're going to the effort of painting an historical army it seems perverse that you wouldn't then field one!

Yes, the ongoing LMG "debate". I've actually not had to lock an LMG thread in a while - the "veterans of the great debate" now even police the new members who bring it up  lol so I my stern reinforcement techniques worked somehow  :D

Great ideas scrivs, I like anything that breaks up the normal points v points systems.  ;)

Good ideas, I'm going to try them out in a bigger game planned for this summer I think!

Thanks for sharing!
