Vallejo Liquid Metals
« on: 04 May 2013, 10:35:38 PM »
Can I just say, these are absoloutely amazing. Very realistic, shiny metallics, perfect for statues and very highly-reflective metals.

I bought the whole set, but I have found a few issues. One or two of the pots DO NOT OPEN. Not at all, they just spin and spin, regardless of how much pressure I put on them.
I have tried 'cutting' into one, thinking the connection was just badly put together, but no avail!

Also, my Silver is very dark... The binder seems to be all goopy and black... Is this normal? All the gold binder seems very clear...

Finally, I know you have to sort of stir these and then shake them, is there an easier way anyone has found to do this?

Any help on the opening of this sort of pot? I have tried contacting Vallejo, but got no response.

Carefully remove the nozzle, throw in some tiny metal balls (or bits cut off of tags from minis), put the nozzle back on- when you shake the bottle, they'll act as agitator and help mixing the paint.

Opening: try pliers or a nutcracker.

Goopy, thick paint/ binder- there's thinner available as well.

after use clean the top of the pot with lint free cloth(  (or a paintbrush dipped in alcohol) also clean the inside of the lid with alcohol.

Stuck lid - sounds like the pigment has 'sealed' the lid to the pot, shake vigorously, and I really do mean vigorously. Better still do this LINK  it works amazingly.

don't use agitators.
