eBob's Rebellion
« on: May 08, 2013, 08:14:40 PM »
So as to not commit a heinous act of threadomancy, I have started a new topic post. Apologies.

As there was no reply for about a year, I was wondering if anyone has had the oppurtunity to look at a full copy of the above rules. At £15 for the pdf, although not a huge sum of money, I am unwilling to part with my cash unless it's something nice. The art looks good and there seems to be a wealth of historical heros etc. but is there enough meat in there to tempt me away from my own writings?

I have a working set of my own LOTR fix for the Scottish Wars of Independence but always happy to add to the collection if the game is good enough :D

So, any thoughts?

Only played the free rules, way back when. They are ok, some similarity to LOTR but for me the archers seemed to rule the game

I played the free rules too and they're very similar to LOTR. Like Lowtardog said, archers kill stuff really easy (if you hit you kill).

Yeah, it seems everyone I speak to has only played the free rules.

Archery was always an issue in LOTR as well; at least there were specific rules restricting their use. I guess I'll just concentrate on the painting and my own rules for now.

I had originally planned to do something more akin to big battles (ie FOG or Hail Ceasar) but think a massed skirmish game with lots of heros on either side seems more fitting for these battles.

Cheers for the input though.
