  • I have a bad feeling about this...
A little WIP that I'm almost thru with.

It won't get a lot of detailing, to break whilst gaming, or weathering, as its skipper keeps it ship shape. :)

Inspired by the 1932 Patrol Boat Venus I found here;
http://www.mdfop8.com/photo_gallery/photo_gallery.htm
Don't browse those pics unless you want to be inspired too. All sorts of pulpy boats there.

And here's a peak at the skipper, Lt Alex McAlister, USN and sailor #1.

The bad guys view of them.

Enjoy,
Amalric

Very nice - the photos show they were kept in good condition.

Are you building a roof for the cabin?

Yes, I am working on a short roof with a canvas tarp going all the way to the stern per the photo of the Venus. It will be removable for play.

Michi
Thank you.

Joe,
Thank you.

The boat is all but done.
All that is left to do is the 48 star flag.
She can't sail without a flag. It wouldn't be proper.
Then I'll try and take some decent pics.

Well I thought i was done,
It wasn't until I was taking these pics that I noticed I didnt paint the ball on top of the flag pole.
Well anyway here she is*, The USN Barracuda.

She's made of foam core and matt board [stuff used in picture framing]. Everything was from stuff I had on hand at the house laying around. The top is fine scrap cloth from the missus painted a sun bleached off white though the pics make it look white.

*I'll get it painted and then take some in situ pics with Lt. McAlister and crew.

Enjoy,
Amalric

Very very nice chap

I did toy with the idea of doing a US Sailor League after watching the Sand Pebbles
"Ho, ho, ho! Well, if it isn't fat stinking billy goat Billy Boy in poison! How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap, stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly thou!"
