Thanks all!

We'd better not be getting invaded, I don't have any more 25mm space-farers to protect me!

The new tripod has been great for getting what we've been calling the "coach's camera angle", the overhead shot where you can see the troop movements easily from one round to the next. Awesome for pointing out "This is what I should have done here..."

Another of the games we've been running in this campaign is the "League of Nil-ith Horn Chronicles". This storyline features our friend and player of 20+ years as an elite infantry orc assigned under the first command of a human officer, played by another friend and long-time gamer. I joined in the fun as a huge urog warrior with an even huger sword.

This adventure was set to feature the new Orc Hall (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=56151.45) but instead 2 damning rolls in a row by the GM found our party's wagon mired in swampy ground in the perfect place to be ambushed.

As the orcs worked to free the wagon, the party was attacked by javelins from above, and wild orcs fell on the rear of the column.

A great Wild Urog showed himself and his standard, and my Urog warrior charged him.

We had a smashing row, which was mainly myself and our orcs getting smashed by that giant hammer the beast was wielding, and then had to wrap up after that battle for the night.

The Orc Hall was on the table for the evening, and got lots of love in real life too. Hope to show you action shots of that soon!

That is an UBERCOOL LOOKING game. The terrain & minis are SPECTACULAR; the cliffs, water effects (ponds), forests, et al are WONDERFUL...AND I love the oxen powered wagon. GREAT STUFF!

Thanks! Bleddyn made the swampy pieces and brought them a few weeks ago. They still need a bit of detailing, but we put them into use right away for SGK #47, and every night thereafter so far.

Mud, muck everywhere!

In preparation for the next League of Nil-ith Horn Chronicles later tonight, Teshub set up a League of Nil-ith Horn trade caravan.

As they were about to arrive at a Great Northern village, they were ambushed by wild Kromgaard orcs:

This is why I wargame. When it all clicks and creates something this evocative and pretty. Ive always had a weakness for dramatic cliffsides, so this setup is particularly awesome to me.

I do need to make some elevated terrain for my own board.

Your group has really pulled it of and created a whole world with a wonderful storyline to go along. That's what I call dedication. I almost feel humbled being allowed to glance at it from time to time.

Completely blown away  :o...your terrain and minis are fantastic and whats more, functional. I've only recently got into fantasy gaming after decades of historical stuff and if my collection reaches 10% of the quality and dedication you have achieved then i will be happy. My fave is the orc ambush, love the mountains and the impression of height given which is always difficult to reproduce on the tabletop...fantastic, love it  :-*

Great god a mighty, that is amazing. The caravan, the orc hoards, the temple, the empty wine rack, it all tells a great story. I love how much time and effort you put into your gaming.

Thank you all so much for the positive encouragement!  :-*

We had a fantastic night of gaming on Saturday. Our players were ready to see the Orc Hall ingame after seeing it on the table for a few weeks now, and the roleplay that took place there did not disappoint.

Thanks Michka! Some decades ago we discovered our gaming was our lifeblood. We like to play, craft, model, paint, write, photograph, map and discuss it all waaaaaaaaaay more than we like to do anything else (except walking, but we usually talk game when we walk  ;) ). I find it so freeing to create. Also we stopped watching television with any regularity some years ago and I've enjoyed spending the time one would discuss the most recent episode of insert_popular_show_here instead discussing the last episode that we played. Still a geek-out, simply a shift in focus.

I'm very enthused to be such an inspiration, Stavros! I wish you great luck in your collecting and crafting. This hobby has been a wonderful outlet for us and our friends and that's made it easy to dedicate our time to it.

You've hit the nail on the head with the description "functional"; that's perfect and I'd like to use it liberally from now on :) . When we started to make terrain we knew it had to work in many settings, make various types of landforms, store well (I never had much luck with Woodland Scenics lichen :P , long term), and let miniatures stand on top. Fully functional!

Your group has really pulled it of and created a whole world with a wonderful storyline to go along. That's what I call dedication. I almost feel humbled being allowed to glance at it from time to time.

It is all about the crew on this one. We have a fantastic group of friends and family that are our players. When people come to play, they leave it all on the table. There is a glow that seems to linger around the miniatures for a day or so after we play. Thanks for basking in it too.

This is why I wargame. When it all clicks and creates something this evocative and pretty. Ive always had a weakness for dramatic cliffsides, so this setup is particularly awesome to me.

I do need to make some elevated terrain for my own board.

Thanks affun! Glad this vignette struck a chord.

Vertical space is intriguing on the tabletop. Realistic or functional, it adds dramatic potential to the game.

Thank you Argonor, Elbows, manic_miner, Legion1963 and DeafNala. Your compliments keep me snapping and sharing!
