Puppet's War Heavy Combat Armour

Something new in the pipeline from Puppetswar:

It looks great. It is similar to the Studio McVey suits but different enough to be cool :)

Looks interesting  8)

I'm quite liking these very small independent companies that are filling niches that GW isn't.

cheers

Nice otherwise (at least until I see the price tag but PW tends to be a little cheaper than the competition...) but am not overtly convinced by the dangly bit in front. Maybe it's just the camera angle but it looks definitely overdone as extra crotch protection goes.

Me too, though i generally like the design. Nice to see some non-GW designs.

I like all that I can see except for the ridiculous codpiece...

Would like to see more angles though.

Well the codpiece might actually make sense If this dude is supposed to be up front in an assault, then it can sheild lighter troops following.

Yep, while it is a little silly looking...I can justify it in my head as the lead element of a boarding team on a hostile spacecraft or something to that effect.

Essentially a robotic version of a police team's SWAT entry suits.

Yep, it's a stretch.

It reminds me of Gimli when he is given a suit of human-sized mail coat in the LotR film. I think the codpiece looks cool and adds a lot of 'heaviness' to the look.

To each their own though :)

I expect that after all the feedback on the forums that codpiece might shrink though  lol

I would recommend them to make it seperate, so we could easily shorten it ourselfs (doesn't look like that would be a difficult conversion), but I'm not on their Forums.
Far less active than I used to...

Crotch protection can never be overdone!

Do Robots (or Power Armor users) worry about armoring their... "cod..." - I mean if something penetrates the Power Armor it is going to bad things to all sort of parts (some - physically - more vital than that 1% of the human body.)

Have you noticed that the barrel on the gun looks like it is pointing down? It is a top illusion (there are two guns) and looks quite amusing :D

Neither am I, but this would be an ideal solution if someone here can suggest it there.  Especially as it would allow those of us who don't like the dangly look to use the plate elsewhere.

I'm sold on it if the codpiece is seperate. Looks like it possibly could be. Really hope it is, these are some of the better heavy/reinforced power armor designs out there. Look like the best parts of both the Starship Troopers Grizzly suits Mongoose made and the heavy armor for Sedition Wars.
