I have been painting odds & ends of other stuff between my army units. Did some Martian cavelry & a figure for the Medieval Painting Order plus some other stuff.

End of the year is a good idea. Nearly finished the second unit (slow going, I know  ::) ) and will do a galloper gun next to break the monotony and then more pike  :)

cheers

I am doing the same as I just finished my second medieval warrior priest. I couldn't just paint one and leave the other alone in the blister.  ;D

Sadly, October was not a good month for painting. Too much going on with the family (colds, surgery, kids college applications, school, marching band etc). Thankfully the wife's surgery went well and marching band season is over.  There is hope for getting back to painting in November.

Did a few zombies for the Zomtober thread. Thought I would have plenty of time to get my October figures done. But have been working doubles at work a lot this month. Did get my Algeirians almost done just have to paint their rifles but am working double the rest of this week. Should get them done this weekend. Hopefully I'll get pictures up too.

I would be done with this month's entry, but last night I decided to shave the laces off the front of a Zulu shield so that I could re-sculpt them. For some reason I had to have the correct number :)

I'll leave that decision up to you people :)

(Knowing full well that many people on LAF are bonkers, or dedicated and bonkers :) )

BTW You inspired me and caused a costly moment of weakness when that Foundry Darkest Africa email hit my in box.  :D

Wow guys...
my full compassion for any real life generated hobby obstacles, especially health and family trouble....  :(

as to the others - what's Your excuse, Ya lazy bastards?  ;) ;) lol

Anyway, nice to read that so many are still comitted and care to respond - I am with You and watching interested, whenever You are ready.

As to the Zulu shields - looking forward very much to the methodology of determining "the right number" of grip binding laces, seriously....
I am sure You have done a lot of research on period photographs and original ethnographic material - maybe You care to inform the Zulu people too?  lol lol lol lol lol
On the other hand - kudos for such dedication: if I shaved off all the neckcloths and resculpted the necks, collars and shoulders on all the foreign legion miniatures that would be otherwise acceptable, I might end up with no reason of whining all the time about there being to few "right" ones available....

every coin has two sides.... ::)

Mine will come in after the weekend, half term and a business trip have thrown me off my stride.

That and the usual butterfly approach to painting  lol lol
