(Army Painters) 25mm Sci-fi (NAC has landed)
« on: July 06, 2013, 06:24:13 PM »
yay,i'm joining the Army Painters Challenge with my 25mm Sci-fi Stuff.Instead of a single Army my Target is to finish 5-7 complete Forces until the End of 2013,we'll see how this goes  o_o lol...
i have already collected some playable Forces  but none of them is really complete. For some Forces i'll only need 2-3 Units to complete, other Factions are still nib  :-X

I collect 25mm Minis for Games like Stargrunt II (SG),Hammer's Slammer (HS),Tomorrow's War (TW) and Fast and Dirty (FaD) i'm also toying around with the Idea of upscaling Heavy Gear (HG) or Battletech (BT) to 25mm Scale,or at least some of the Game Mechanics (Overheating,Blindfire via Spotter etc),that said i will mainly Focus on Vehicle/Mech Combat,i have plenty of Infantry Forces in 28/32mm already.

In most of these Rules the "standard Army" is either an Infantry or a Tank Platoon:

16/24 Men in 4 Men Fireteams (TW/FaD/HS)
24/32 Men in Squads of 4-8 Soldiers (SG/HG)

add a Transporter to each Squad and you'll have a complete mechanised Infantry Platoon already  8)
replace all the Infantry with Tanks and you can play 25mm HS like the Big Boys do  8)

So you'll see i dont need that many Infantry for each Force,in Fact i'm eventually sorted with the Platoon Packs GZG sells (24 Minis for 30£ not a Bad Deal  ;))
Enough of Words,Here's my to do List:  o_o

Infantry/Power Armour Miniatures for 3 Factions: The UN, NAC (new Anglican confederation from SG), ESU (Eurasian Solar Union) a Bunch of Denizen Figs for my SG NSL Platoon (new Swabian League)

Vehicles for the UN/ESU/NSL/NAC/FSE/IF

Mechy Mechs for most of the Factions

alright here's what i have painted in the past Months   :)

and a bit of Infantry for various Factions

Next up is a closer Look at each Faction, starting with the IF-the Islamic Federation. This Army is almost complete, down to 6 Infantry, 1 Sniper and a Bunch of Vehicles ( 1 Drinca light Tank 1x Merkava Tank, 1x Drabis Command Vehicle)
This is the Private Army of Sheik Seyit al Senpinar, equipped with  State of the Art Wartech. They mostly rely on fast Grav Vehicles, the complete Platoon is mechanised,A special Note on the Krabadin Elite Unit, these are the Sons and Daughters of the Sheik, they have to prove themselves worthy in Battle, carrying the Name of Al Senpinar is a Fulltime Job  lol

Krabadin:

Bozulmaz Infantry

My to do List for the Senpinar Force

eventually they'll be getting a Mech Unit, what do you think, does any of these Mechs looks Arabian?  lol

25mm (BT) Clan Elementals to serve as Battle Armour in the Sheiks Army

Size Comparsion:Left to Right 25mm GZG ESU Power Armour,25mm Clan Elemental,28mm Victor Force Mini,28mm Armorcats Clan Elemental

Hey, that's looking impressive and very promising! All that Bandai mecha goodness reminds me to my own big collection I sold mostly years ago (was it a mistake ... ?   8) )

another Look at the UN Force, this Faction is mostly defensive, they don't have acces to Power Armour, nor any heavy Mechs, the only Mechs they have are Civilian/Working Labors, this is the typical trapped in a Convoy Faction (just like the real UN  >:D)
Unfortunately i haven't found a suitable sized Mech Model yet,the best i've found was a 1/100 Xabungle Gallop Type Mech (saw it on Inso's Grymn out there Blog-thanks for the Inspiration Steve  ;)) Not perfect but good enough for now...

i've only painted a Bunch of UN Soldiers yet (Miniatures are GZG Mercs) and half of the Vehicles

@Silversixx: thanks! We're not many but we're very enthusiastic  lol

now we're coming to the Major Factions in my 25mm Universe: NAC and ESU

while the ESU Vehicle Park is almost finished,i haven't painted a single Mini apart from a lonely Power Armour Suit

This Mech is only 1/100 Scale but still looks impressive next to Infantry  :P

the NAC Army is even more wip,and there are plenty of Things to purchase  ::) : A Unit of Infantry Skimmers, more Blower Tanks...

I have seen a painted example of it before, always made me think of a transformer called lugnut. Curious to find out what it actually is and where its from.

Looking good! You really are getting good at painting. I love it all but the white on the UN forces is really well done.

Dr Falkenhayn great work on your vehicles and Mechs. A good mix of great models.

In your second update on the area of Faction vehicles on the first and second photos in the bottom right hand corner the white painted shuttle/lander vehicle, who is the manufacturer or supplier of that model.
Thanks regards Marauderman.
