Just checking, has anyone else been overcharged for the PDF by Gumroad? The product is meant to be £10 GBP, but when you click through to Paypal is converts it to US dollars and back again. Final payment comes out at over £12 GBP  ???

Sorry about that.  I thought Paypal would use their own exchange rate, but it shouldn't happen twice.  Must be because Gumroad is US-based.  If you send me the details, I'll see about refunding the difference, or add a free casting or 2 to a future order if you are planning on placing one.

OK, the difference in price is clearly an effect of a combination of multiple unfavourable exchange rates used by Gumroad, Paypal and credit card companies and banks.  I'm afraid that I can't do much about that, but I can offer this.  If you've bought a pdf and paid more than you were expecting, please contact me through the Otherworld Miniatures website contact page, and when you place an order with us, I'll either refund your overcharge or add free miniatures to your order worth twice the overcharged amount.

I have been reading through the rules and looking at the cards and tokens.
I am very impressed with the quality of everything.

For those who want to find out more - there is a podcast that you can download which has about an hour of interviews with the Otherworld team.
The actual interview starts at 28 minutes 50 seconds,

I have made my first test using a small faction (100 GP) and a D&D battlemap. I played with my friend by skype. The game is excellent and works very well

Love the pics!

Regarding the overpayment, I live in the U.S. and I used paypal and it charged me the correct amount based on the exchange rate of the day. So perhaps I just got lucky, or perhaps paypal works better than credit cards on that site? I'm not giving advice, I'm just jotting down my experience to add to the data.

Well sadly my photos didn't come out very well (new phone camera will take some getting used to and the lighting/angles were a bit off), but we played our first game today. I ran it and Derek (Momotaro) and Andy (majorsmith) had a scrap over some barrows. Despite the usual buggering up/forgetting certain rules with a new game on my part, we all really like the rules, they have so much depth without being bogged down. With the abilities, traits and such you can really make anything work so the options are endless. I will try and jot up a bare bones report later with some of the best pictures. Needless to say, we intend to play again very soon.

For saying it was our first attempt at the rules, lots of fun and narrative things happened (the skilled Elf archer fumbling when it mattered and managed to kill the party's barbarian with his magic bow, or the evil sorcerer flooring everyone except himself with a sleep spell) and I think it speaks volumes about how good the rules are if you love narrative games. I am just as excited about coming up with some more scenarios/campaign ideas and writing up some more gangs/warbands as I am about playing (or GMing) again.

Adventurers forward!

Zzzzz (post sleep-spell. Didn't find a rule saying the undead were immune to a snooze)

A great day's gaming David!  We got to grips with the rules really quickly and much fun was had.  Except for Krunk the barbarian, who died three times...
