Ray, I bought these sailors (and later entered them in the LPL) after seeing some time ago what a good job you did of painting them here.  Looking at them again just now I've had one of those d'oh moments as I recall that the lieutenant did wear white shoes in the movie, and I'd intended to paint them white.  Somehow forgot that in the chaos of trying to make the deadline.

The officer is wearing a dress uniform known as the "choker" for the collar.  When I saw the mini I was pretty sure he would be wearing white shoes, that's what we did when I was in the Navy.

I did, however, check on it, as I may be old, but not quite as old as the era this guy comes from...  lol

When I referred to "the movie", I meant The Sand Pebbles, in which the landing party officer is wearing this exact uniform.  Indeed, his shoes are white.

I figured... great movie and undoubtedly the inspiration for the mini's themselves.

Very accurately corrective Ray. And alone anytime so hardly kitsch

The derma tones are absolutely able-bodied done.

Update time...  :)

Finished doing a bunch more jungle terrain.  Nothing special though... 6 Pegesus Palm trees and a whole bunch of high grass and stuff (from GW in general).

Here's a snap:

The only thing I did possibly a bit different then most folks is base 3 fronds to a base.

Here's a close-up:

I am pretty much "game ready" now, though I still have a few more things to do... like a giant spider... but probably won't happen anytime soon.  Perhaps in the fall.

Cheers!

Very nice looking plants :)

 lol

I realize they're not the sexiest thing in town, but without them my game table will look rather barren.

What I need now is some nice big jungle trees.  Where is Grimm...

Ray did you say the plastic jungle plants are from GW?  I really like the way you based them
and I also think they will really look nice on a game table!  The pegasus palm trees look great too!
I will have to pick up some of those.

Yep, you can find them on the GW web site under Warhammer 40,000 scenery.  Three different types of plants and lots of them.

Has it been a year already?

Anyway, I have been following this thread since the beginning.  I hope that you will treat us to a photo report of your first game.

 :)

Time sure does fly!

I shall indeed, be publishing some game reports, though I don't know when.  I've a couple projects going now that are all getting to the point of gaming.  Terrain has finally got to a playable point, though I would like a little more.  I anticipate using fall to finish up a bunch of odds an ends and come this winter start putting all this stuff into action.
