IHMN - MSFSFWYW
« on: 14 August 2013, 08:34:57 AM »
It has taken me a while to get things happening with IHMN as I haven't had much time of late for much in the way of modelling but I finally had a good look at it. I did buy a set of the Black Dragon Tong but I've had very limited time for painting and modelling in recent weeks so I thought I'd create my own Fighting Company using my current batch of vsf figures.

More detail on my blog at: http://this28mmlife.blogspot.com.au/

Mrs Slocombe's Finishing School for Wayward Young Women

Mrs Slocombe’s Finishing School for Wayward Young Women is a private institution for the betterment of young ladies of class as well as tending to the succour of unfortunate women of lesser standing. Instead of allaying their wayward ways Mrs Slocombe, instead, harnesses the innate rebellious nature of her pupils for the betterment of Queen, Country and Empire. Through training, guidance and firm discipline Mrs Slocombe’s Ladies are able to go tête à tête with the toughest Adventuring Companies of the modern era.

Mrs Slocombe, the widow of Sir Harold Slocombe, is the dowager of her husbands’ substantial fortune. Seeing the Empires’ need in these times of tumult, she concluded that the Empire’s womenfolk were not playing as active a part in the defence of the realm as they could. Therefore, the Slocombe Finishing School for Wayward Young Women was founded as a means to mobilise the Daughters of the Empire. Her pupils are educated in bartitsu, marksmanship, medicine, engineering and the sciences.

Knowing a sizable commodity when she sees one Mrs Slocombe also opened a hospice for the unfortunate women of London’s streets. All women of lowly means are welcome at these premises and, although they are not obliged, many are willing to aid their benefactorix in her efforts against the Empire’s foes.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Wrong, just so wrong...  ::)

*ahem* Do wonder about the figs, though. The two-gun (Mrs. Slocombe?) and her 'companion' are from Gurps Steampunk, right? I'm thinking they're actually RAFM, but can't find any confirmation.

No bells on the other belle's. Help?

Correct. The Mrs Slocombe and her feline friend are RAFM
The fallen ladies are from Foundry.
The rest are my own sculpts available at Pulp 28's: http://www.pulp28s.com/ (except for Rocket girl - she use to be available but she's going through some re-design and hasn't been re-released yet).

I THOUGHT the Woman in Green looked familiar, and enticing. (Parenthetically, was just watching Basil Rathbone's Sherlock Holmes in movie of the same name.)

Must remember the 'Ladies Auxiliary'...

... (except for Rocket girl - she use to be available but she's going through some re-design and hasn't been re-released yet).

Too bad, she could go either as her own strong self, or a camp follower for my rocketmen.  lol

Thanks muchly!

Doug

Edit: Ooo, hadn't thought of them for a long time. Bit more pulp, but might be the germ of a company...

Cracking stuff, sir!  :-* And will the distinguished Captain Peacock be her military adviser?  ;)
