I'd go with some GW boxes of core (if you can find solid discount), and then use Highland Miniatures prints for all the fancy stuff.

Oathmark Elf plastic boxes are also good for core minis.

Making the AoS guys into Old World will be financially painful.  I knew it was bad when even the local store owner said "God damn that's expensive..." when he saw the release box for the Chaos Dwarfs, lollol

Fortunately I've got all the classic inspired Chaos Dwarfs I'll need.

Meh, everything in life is expensive! I used to have a massive CD army, it will be fun to have some big hats again  :D

Those highland minis are quite nice and I didn't even think of Oathmark. I think I'll get some Swordmasters first though, I quite like the minis from GW for this. I might even start a wanted thread here just in case anyone has some spare they don't mind selling (although shipping may be prohibitive. It does seem that the Old World stuff seems to be cheaper per mini than other ranges.

Yep, despite generally loathing GW and their pricing/FOMO nonsense, the Old World minis - particularly on sale are actually completely "reasonable".  Maybe not a great deal, but if all GW products were based around these kinds of prices (excluding single figures and their new releases..), they wouldn't get so much crap.

Locally I've had two stores both do Old World sales, one was 28% off (25+3% cash), and another was 30% off.  That brought the cost to completely competitive with other brands like Wargames Atlantic, Victrix, Fireforge Games, etc.

They still make elite units arbitrarily more expensive, so I haven't bought any of those, but a kit of 10 cavalry for round about $40 is acceptable to me.  In fact Old World kits are the only GW thing I've bought in years excluding maybe a Necromunda box or two.

Of course, in the UK they're even better - as you guys have more frequent discounts and your base prices are significantly cheaper than what we pay (around 20-30% depending on the kit).

Generally, all the Canadian shops have them at 15% off, plus give rewards which add up to cash off subsequent orders fairly quickly. Old World is indeed generally pretty good for GW pricing!

Anyone picking up the latest Necromunda stuff? I have, and have been going back to pick up much of what I’ve missed. Less the “outlands vehicles” stuff, more the hive and hive secondus stuff. Mad Donna is now “Bella Donna”  lol

I just got the Necromunda core rule book so I can learn it and play it with interested local gamers. The smaller scale and the wild look of the miniatures for it appeal to me. I've heard the Secondus lore, but want to get to know the core game before splurging on more books.

I've not given the new version of Necromunda a go but I think the original was my favourite game.

I've got a few places that do 20% off sometimes. But down here in NZ prices are always inflated compared to the likes of the UK and USA

That was a good video, she always impresses me with the stuff she pulls off and how whimsical it looks in the end.

She’s a typical “influencer”, eh?

Ordered some more Necromunda stuff tonight - a couple boxes of stairs/platforms, the super market stall kit (I’ve bashed it into many a project!, glad it’s back on the market), and the Apocrypha book - Mrs Tarkel has an Escher gang waiting for paint, with Mad Bella Donna. She said “they look a bit butch, don’t they?”  lol
