Sounds a bit full-on!

Good to see you back in the saddle.

I know the feeling, though, as I have not done much myself, (other than push putty around at work) for ages.
Now I HAVE to pull my finger out as BLAM looms ever closer..... ::)

Looking forward to the rest of your current burst of inspiration with some relish.
 :D

We'll have to hurry before Captain Blood fills out the entire 200 minis  :D

They look beautiful as well. All your Mercenaries made me start painting stribes unto all of my WoTR guys.

While I finish those, though, heres a knight I painted for SoBH. I really like these early citadel Foot knights. Lovely sculpts, and lots of nice tabard to paint bright colours onto.

No. 84 - Sir Harald

Well you chaps had better get a wriggle on then! ;)
I just happen to be working through a lot of medieval figures at the moment - and this thread is filling up a great deal more slowly than the previous Ancients and Pulp painting clubs. (Guess that says something about the relative minority interest in medievals on LAF ::))

Link?  I'd be interested.   :)

Well it's something of a minority interest, but since you asked...

Ha!
I spent the whole of April - August demolishing walls and putting in a new kitchen. Plus directing a big open air Shakespeare. Plus launched a new version of my writing website. Plus the day job, family, and everything else obviously...  ::)
Apart from one or two figures for the Ancients Painting Club, I don't think I painted a thing for almost 6 months. And strangely, I didn't miss it, so I guess I needed a break...
I've learned over the years: don't try and force yourself to paint if the mood isn't upon you. Just paint like Bejasus when it is!
Now I've hit a full-on PPP (purple painting patch), and I'm churning out all sorts while I have the mojo back. (Fear not, it will disappear again within a few weeks, I have no doubt  ;))

Everyone needs a hiatus now and then.

Good news Giles!  :)

That is a lovely shield Engel - simple, but very effective.

Hi All,

Just got back from the West Coast (US) Surfing Championships, well the ones for dogs! Yes I have heard all sorts of excuses and reasons for not getting in some painting time but I bet you never heard that one! So after the Wife, the Dog, and I returned from Huntington Beach, California, about an hour away from our house, and a day in the 82 degree sunshine (yes eat your hearts out, my gloss coat never “milks”) I found I had just enough time left to post a few pics of my Norman Warband project. I finished a 12 man unit of levy bow this week and even managed to get them into combat over Friday and Saturday were they ended 2 wins -1 loss against Vikings and Welsh Warbands.

The crossbow "bowstring" is brass as well as the bolt, both added to original figure.

I have also included better pictures of my first Norman posted here # - 79 and there are no pre-printed flags or transfers used.

No - 86 Norman Crossbow man

Reshoot of #79

Here is another Norman Crossbow man with padded armor. Crossbow has added wire for bowstring and "bolt". I'm starting to feel a bit more comfortable painting in this period (Dark Ages) I know they did not have much uniformity yet to the units but I have used a similar color palette to sort of give them a bit of a "we belong together" feel..... ::)

No - 87 Norman Crossbow man at arms.

Nice work, Vonkluge!
 :-*

One question, though: Is the multi-coloured helmet a historical thing or something you made up?

I have no idea and am hoping that it is historically accurate so that I have an excuse for doing something similar myself.

Folks, as we approach the halfway mark (  :o ) may I just venture a teensy reminder of couple of the core rules of the order...  :)

•   You may post only one miniature base each day.
•   This is not about showing your collection of already painted stuff, so please do post only newly painted miniatures.

I think a couple of participants may have missed these rules  ;)

Just saying...

New to this kinda of stuff... and the only thing for sure that is historically correct is the banner..  :)
