Do you use a different shade for the (lower) lips of yout minis, or is it 'just' the skin highlight?

I leave it with a midtone of skin shade, with no highlights. Easy innit?

Had a chat with admiral Benbow today and he told me that I should post this. It's not a figure though so I'll not count it in the numbers.

Excellent castle  :-* I reckon it should count, it's a miniature.

Wow, I've had little time to post or even look at post but what a lot of fantastic figures showing up! I'm going to miss this thread when it ends....or will it? :'(

Cubs, Hats off to you that's nice! ;D

Captn Blood, what can I say that has not already been said!

Tesub, like they way u did the "eye" giving him the crazy look!

Johan, the Castle is a "Pip"! well done, scratch built I assume, it is 28mm? hard to tell from the picture...

So, I've been working, and painting, doing "honey doo's" just no time for photo taking until to-night.... yet another crossbow man for my almost done SAGA warband! "Brass" bolt and bow string added.

Yes, 28mm sculpted styrofoam high density , loosely based on the castle of Beersel in Belgium. I've got to make a bridge for it, but first I have to make a pond in which it will be sitting so I can make the bridge the exact length I need.

Johan that is a great Castle. I notice some other intriguing looking terrain just out of shot in the photograph...That snow board looks good, are there pictures of it elsewhere on this forum?

Vonkluge- That Norman crossbow man looks quite sneaky- perhaps he fancies himself as a medieval sniper!

Cubs- They are quite good them Beserkers, I suppose... ;) I shall keep an eye out for the article.

Thanks Admiral, the castle was sieged by the soldiers of Brussels who turned against the Burgundians (as many cities did in that time). They destroyed the castle but were forced to rebuild it afterwards by Maximillian.

Sometimes I get so jealous of you guys who live across the pond on the "Isle of Wargaming" while I live in a Wargaming desert....don't get me wrong we have some great wargaming here but you really have to look under rocks for it!  :'( So many great conventions and shows, and mostly closer than the distance I commute to work each day.... my wife thinks its strange I talk of retiring to live in England... lol

Anyway, here is, and I hope youu are not all tired of seeing my Normans..... I fear the painting challange may be over before the Vikings (on deck!) start to appear  ::) I was a bit apprehensive the task painting of several Dark Ages SAGA Warbands but this thread has put a lot of fun back into it as well as made them better by seeing what all the other great entries have done.

This entry has a custom spear made of steel, hand painted shield, and enough gloss coat under there to withstand any "pizza fingers" on the planet! Bases are all made by me on a miniature PROXON table saw of .30 styrene and .30 sheet magnet.

Love that foundry figure and a well done paint job on #157. I have a ton of the foundry figures but I missed that one.
