I'm not fond of the flying 'things' GW has been releasing (but my personal opinion on that should be on the ad hoc thread, let's focus). A friend commissioned me a Space Marines flyer, but fortunately the idea was doing something different than the regular models. He provided me the base stuff, a mix of a StormRaven and a Rhino, and let me total freedom to see what would I get with the pieces. I begun with this basic shape:

Trying to make it a little more stylised than the original model and resembling a little Thunderhawk. Some additional pieces later it begun to look like this:

Once primed it wasn't so disgusting

But I changed the upper cannon, it somehow was out of place.

Then it was just a matter of details:


I tend to paint these stupid signs in
Gothic (it's WH40K!).
Air Intake (Aeris Ductus)
Watch your step (Cave pedes)

That kind of stuff, you know.

(I shouldn't take these pics on the window, I had previous bad experiences with minis unwishingly becoming 'paratroopers'
