28mm AWI MAURICE MINI CAMPAIGN
« on: September 17, 2013, 11:38:36 AM »
I have started a 2 person mini AWI campaign with Dave Paterson using my 28mm armies.  Two battles so far - decisive British victory in the first game and decisive Patriot victory in the second.   We are using the basic campaign rules but each war we will make a campaign season.  I am looking forward to the 3rd game as my Patriots now have qualitative as well as numerical superiority over the British.

2nd battle - British main attack falls back whilst they attack on right with irregulars and artillery 3rd line of Continentals moves to support

Full reports of both games with OBs on my blog. Latest report at

Our mini campaign has now reached battle 4 - the Battle of Ray's Ridge.  Like Battle 3 it was another British victory.

Patriot centre under pressure - Loyalists have broken 3 units....

Many thanks for the positive comments.  Our mini campaign has now reached battle 5 - The Action at Hannah's Stables. I kept the campaign going by winning a decisive Patriot victory.

View from British side - Hessians on right wing and 4th & 5th of Foot plus guns in centre about to be broken.

Our mini campaign has now reached battle 8 - The Action at Bill's Crossroads. Given the problems with the small size of the initial British army we have decided to restart the campaign and recast the armies and their national characteristics based on our experience with our 8 games.  We are also going to try a card system for varying the initial battle setup.

Critical action from the British centre - the front 3 units broke just after this view
