You do know that it is 19 per squadron and that there are 3 squadrons...?

Even so it is quite do-able in 6mm. The old WRG modern micro rules are available for free and I think that these were adapted by the Canadian Army for training purposes...(they're actually not bad but desperately need some modern command and control rules)

First Clash is one of my favourites! I'll be looking forward to seeing some lovely GHQ kit painted up for it.

I've got 4th CMBG in 6mm - H&R mostly - platoon level stands for Cold War Commander.

12 Fighting stands of Leopard C1 in this TOE, which is what I use:

Great resource - thanks for laying that out! I am not 100% sure of what rules we will be using. I'm going to start with a Squadron of Leopard C1, 19 in total. Still need to get them actually. I have a supply of Lynx and M113/M577/mortar carriers already, as well as the M109, and trucks for Svc. Bn. Lots of conversions and odds and ends planned to really make this look good on the table. Picking up the decals tonight to start on the M113 finishes. Also need some TOW M113, and Blowpipes.

Thanks for the link! I printed it out - odd but I couldn't get the file to save. The Canadian Forces version was called Contact! and is available. I have Cold War Commander already, as well as the GHQ Modern rules, and now the WRG ... I have lots!

Back to working on the project.  ;)

The father of a friend of mine was actually the Colonel in command of the Canadian armoured forces in Germany during the 80's. Sometimes I get a few of the more shareable stories through him (there's more than a few he won't share). Usually the stories involve the American armoured forces getting hopelessly lost during a war games training exercise and showing up in funny locations at the wrong time.  lol

Very funny.

I'll have some updates tomorrow. Infantry, trucks, and some other goodies.  ;)

That seems to be a recurring theme (heard a version of this story from the brother of a British tank commander I work with). It was during night time exercises, and they were warned specifically not to enter a particular village... guess where he lead the battalion? :)

Anyway, looking forward to your updates grant.

Picked up a pack of Leopards, as well as the needed decals.

The GHQ decals for Canadians are going to be a challenge. White maple leaf, then a black maple leaf. Two part decals to get the white thin border, all in 1:285. Can't wait!

(well, maybe I can, but I will try and tackle a troop of 4 this weekend...)

Just had another thought (sorry, I'm working in slow-motion at the moment); are you familiar with the "Armoured Acorn" website?

You bet! Barry's site is solid gold. If anyone hasn't been there, they should and download every PDF they can. It's invaluable research!

Thanks for the tip though - if I hadn't heard about it, that would have blown my mind.

My buddy sent your blog to his dad. We both thought it was pretty wild that someone is actually wargaming his command!
