Found a pretty good car for Fallout!
« on: 24 September 2013, 10:17:59 PM »
Was in my local toy store/ hobby store lately and found a bunch of 1/43 scale disney/pixar Cars model kits.
Made by Zvezda.
I plucked one out (there's only three in the range that really fit the bill and only one of those really lacks invasive facial features.
"Doc Hudson".

£5, figured it was the best I was gonna find for a while!

I can get more pictures later if you want more angles. C:
If you'd like an apocalyptic monster in 28mm, throw me a PM and I'll think it over.

Coming along just fine.
You might want to try to press the wheels onto a heated piece of metal (e.g. an old butter knife) to simulate flattened tires (unless it's supposed to be an actual working car)
Also, have a look at photos of oxidized chrome. For that much rust on your fender, you should consider to give the rest a coat of matte varnish and/or apply some dark grey spots.
(myself I use a grey drybrush to dull the shiny parts)
Oh, and don't forget to give you're hubcaps the same treatement.  :)
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

When I wrote my Fallout rules, I included a good portion of vehicular combat, I wanted this first one to indeed be a running car. c:
I need to touch the rust up a bit better too, the dots of it look too obviously painted. >.<

I probably put it into several threads already but try to get hold of Modelmates Rust Effect. You'll never want anything else for painting rust  ;)

Good stuff. I like the 'retro' feel.

I have used the Disney cars too, the (mostly) scale well. a few of the cars have exaggerate size for comic effect- either too big or too small, but most of them look about 1;50 scale to me.

Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

That's a nice little up car you found and it messed up nicely.
I'm having trouble finding cars myself so I might have to look into the Disney option.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

I'd been staring at ebay for months hoping to get some of those Marx cars everyone in America seems to get hold of like jelly babies in a sweet shop..

I'd love to get just one set and make little molds of each one D:
