My Hell on Earth: Reloaded
« on: September 27, 2013, 07:40:11 PM »
I started working on stuff for my Hell on Earth: Reloaded kickstarter. A post apocalyptic RPG using the Savage Worlds ruleset.
Here is a toxic shaman from the kickstarter...

and a junker PC named Tex...

and some Zombiecide walking dead based for a PA desert...

I should be running the first game of the campaign in the next week or two.

What are your thoughts now that you've got some figures? I watched the campaign for a while, but couldn't find a level that felt like a really good value to me.

I only got the minis from the kickstarter.  I got the rulebook later from FRPgames.  I like the style and types of minis.  My only complaint is that some of the surfaces are rough and fingers are sloppy.  That's only on a few minis.  I don't know if that is a casting or sculpting issue (I'm going with casting).  Reaper might have rushed the casting to get them out after their own kickstarter.  Overall though, I like 'em.

And a waster with her teddy bear friend.  After I took this pic, I fixed her eyebrows  :)

Couldn't quite bring myself to support the Kickstarter either. Are the models on general sale yet? And where?

Nice looking minis. :)
Always wondered how they look in real life.
Could you please make a comparison photo of them with something like GW or any other more well known miniature company?

I went in for the basic mini's and freebies plus all the book stuff. I figured as all the miniatures were coming out (other than the two specials) anyway I'd buy more later.

Thanks!
Yep they are on sale now, I've seen them on FRPGames.
Here is the best scale pic I can do now with what I got.  From left to right... Reaper Chronoscope, HoE:R toxic shaman, HoE:R Doomsayer, then a GW guardsman.

Group Shot of a toxic shaman, Hellstromme, doomsayer, mutant

And finally a wormling with a waster

That's a nice bunch of figures you have there. Nice brushwork.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Thank you very much.
I have long been wondered how good they fit with models from other companies.
And they are nicely painted. :)

Great work on all your Miniatures, your Hell on Earth miniatures look fantastic.
Also  loved the way your Zombiecide Walking Dead came out, any chance for  a few pointers on the Walking Dead,  what paints you used and did you use a white, grey or black under coat on them first. Thanks in Advance if you get time to reply with a few pointers. My Hell on Earth Miniatures : Reloaded are still waiting to be cleaned up before painting.
My  Zombiecide Walking Dead are also at clean up stage, except for a few test pieces I am half way through.
Your miniatures really came out well.

Thanks for the complements!
For the zombies I used Reaper MSP paints, I can't remember what color I used for the skin, I'll have to take a look at the minis when I get home.  I wanted an fast & easy painting method for these, since I have a lot of them to do. I used Games Workshop black spray primer, then painted on the base coats, and one coat of highlight.  I didn't bother to shade, since the wash would do that. Then I washed the whole mini with Games Workshop's sepia wash.  I did not highlight after the wash since I wanted a dark look to the mini.  Then I used some green wash in spots for a rotten/moldy look.  For dried and "diseased" looking blood I painted some wound spots with transparent EDIT: raw burnt sienna ink.  For fresher blood at the center of the ink, I used Tamiya Clear Red paint.  Lastly I did the skin in the recesses around the eyes with Reaper Alien Goo paint (from their kickstarter, may not be available yet) and then highlighted the eyeball with white.  The bases had some pebbles super glued to them, then covered in white glue and sand poured over it. The grass is winter tufts.  All in all you don't really have to be to neat with these after you get the base color coat on.
Hope that helps.
