Ah, some test-painted casts of the ballbag rats.

I think the next thing up will be the irradiated? cockroach, since it's pretty much finished but requiring more copies to allow for a larger mold.
If you'd like an apocalyptic monster in 28mm, throw me a PM and I'll think it over.

They are big moleies!! They didn't seem that big in game, but perhaps I'm wrong.

They are cute beggers though!! :-* :-* :-*

Cheers
Matt.

Looking good !
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Nice scrotum-rats Messy. I seem to be the only one who thinks they're the right size, though.

And as for the radroaches, call them Atomic Roaches. You know, because SCIENCE!

I'll paint them up a little better, charge the decent camera and shoot them soon.

..I wanna make an army of ballbag-rat pups, now..
Or a team of baby critters!

It could be like The Land Before Time!

Those are cool. I echo the sentiments of them being the right size. Mole rats were always huge in the game especially in Fallout 2!

I like the scratums :)

Are you pressure casting these?
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

No.
Though it's something on my shopping list for the future.

What resin and mould making material do you use Messy?
I've a hankering to try some lego brick moulds of "shop wares" and "furniture".

Also

Would you recommend pinning your dragon/crabpeople appendages, with a spot of super glue? What assembly would you suggest?

Cheers
Matt

I just use RTV silicone for molds and a "fast-cast" polyurethane resin. Sets in about half an hour. I also use talcum powder to help with air bubbles. c:

The resin seems to take glue REALLY well, and I've found more of my models have snapped before the glued bond has broken. But with the crab people, I tried to pin every joint just to make sure the pose was right and just to reinforce it all a bit.
Most of the spikey bits on the dragon that come separate are ball-socket joints so the glue should be enough. c:

I WILL charge the good camera some day soon.  >:(

Last night I tried a little instant-mold mock-up for the roach. Didn't go too badly.
