First half poured.

This is a "I wanna make loads for myself and maybe others want them to" kinda thing.
Now.. I started telling myself when I was setting the minigun into the mold that it needs a bit more detail on the barrels, but something in me wanted it finished... More than done.

I also REALLY wanted to see for myself whether it'd be an easy ride to cast them, because of the odd shapes poking out and about.
It'll be a fun way of seeing any possible issues the.. Wasteland dragon might give me.

*Hopes attachment works*
If you'd like an apocalyptic monster in 28mm, throw me a PM and I'll think it over.

First cast was.. Meh.
Bits had bubbles, bits broke, missile launcher lost both ends.

Promising, aye?
I got this together, anyway;

Might have to order some of those miniguns

Might have to wait until I've got them being cast in full and decent quality.
The second attempt doesn't look so hot. >.<

The missile launcher came out just about ok the second time, however..
With only one mold and a very tricky pair of guns, it might take a while for me to have anything like "stock".
But thanks, it's encouraging non-the-less. c:

And the missile launcher has been fitted to a model, now!

The launcher has been casting MUCH better than the minigun for now - I've got a few vents cut since the last cast and will see how it performs some time tomorrow.
Enjoy the eye-candy for now - I might try and paint one of these guys ASAP for a better idea of how they look.

Nice to see your progress, but quick, must get to the inane questioning. XD

Are those hands cast along with the missile launcher? I find it simpler to fit a model's arms about a par of hands, than to find a set of hands that match a weapon. Though that's just my personal lazy butt. ^^

I wouldn't be too bothered bout the existing casting quality if you were to start selling them like that. Others may, and you probably do too, but I've seen a lot worse coming from well established companies.

Do you have a shot of the end of the minigun's barrels? Like you said, they could maybe do with more detail. A ring like conventional Miniguns have (or the Fallout 1 gun), or the things at the end of the Fallout 3 gun may make it look a bit more interesting. Dsteingass made a minigun base off of the Fallout 3 one that could work as a reference piece perhaps.

Yes, the hands are integrated with the model - I had that exact issue in mind. That and it's held in an awkward way. c:

The rings were intended... I kinda got ahead of myself and just got it ready for casting anyway!
(I was going to do hands there, too.. Not sure what stopped me from just pulling it out of the plastecine to properly finish it... Maybe the urge to see if it was actually going to be castable. The handles are still causing a bit of trouble in the mold)

I've gone for the three doubled-barrels that the modern games have, and did want to add those supports. D:
/melazy

So far, I have about.. 3 successful casts.
3 miserable failures that I'm torn between giving away to whoever wants them, or slapping them onto terrain pieces.

Well they could be used to represent objectives like ammunition (in game systems that use it, like 7ombieTv), stuck on a shelf for a weapon's store (a bent up gun that's needing repair that is), or just plunked on the back of a vehicle or something. That or just save them to cut up for future conversions.

Would it be possible to get some shots of those guns on some of Vinni's Brotherhood? Games Workshop's models are a bit iffy for scale reference due to their ...unique way of handling proportions.  ;)

Well I suppose people could be buying them for models other than Fallout, otherwise, that's a lot of big guns for one person. ^^
