I enjoy these FPS games , has there been any game developed that transfers this sort of combat to a squad based scenario , or maybe into a narrative?

I envisage some sort of system that allows design of yor pwn forces , NOT Infinity (although it is great) , wouldnt fit this genre?

regards
James

I have "The Battlefield" but haven't been able to play yet. It's simple and clever, and all you need are a few 4-man units for every player. It doesn't reflect modern warfare, but videogames instead: there are no army lists but the same generic, highly customizable force for every player, units "respawn" after they're killed, vehicles appear randomly for you to take them, and the scenarios have been taken from the most popular online shooters (Capture the HQ, Team deathmatch, etc). Probably it's more fun with 4 or more players.

In France, we have the game OPEX wich is dedicated to modern warfare operations. I don' t know if the game is translated in other languages.
