Very nice indeed. It's amazing how good some of those models can look with a present day paintjob.

Nice work on those minis.  I'd not seen most of them before.

I agree that many Grenadier minis have aged well. Some of the really early figs are a bit soft and chunky, but their human medieval figures from the 90's still hold up great.

Painting those mi-go as plants really brings them out - good job!

I still love the Grenadier range from the 80s.  The Cthulhu monsters are my favourites - although outmatched technically by lines like RAFM, they still have so much character to them.

Grenadier's Cthulhu monsters are now produced and sold by italian firm MIRLITON:

The Cthulhu monsters are in the page NIGHTMARES 28mm:

Looks like a John Dennett. :)

If there are two sculptors I could knock over the head, bundle into an unmarked van, and drag back to mini-sculpting, it'd be him and Nick Bibby. Some of John's old Grenadier dragons are still some of the best miniature gaming dragons ever produced. Posed and detailed with a great knowledge of animal anatomy, without having to resort to too many spikez and teef and humanoid muscles bulging like pumpkins to create a superficial 'wow' factor.

Ahem. So I can well agree with the topic title. Mushrooms and Mi-go look great too. :) Great use of colour.
