Darkest African Fantasies have come to me...
« on: 13 November 2006, 03:58:54 PM »
While i'm waiting for my Zanzibaris and Mahdists, a short stopover in the land of the African Fantasies. Got today the Obelisk minis, ones on the pic and the zombie camel riders too(not yet put together).

I applaud your purchase of so many baboons. You simply can't have too many bad-tempered monkeys. What scenario can't be improved by the addition of a troop of baboons?

Oh, and:

Yes, Pete, exactly, you can't have enough of monkeys. I'm glad you recognized this, God will be happy with you :)

Those Baboons look super neat! I´ve also got a pack of the Amazons at Crisis and am currently painting them as a hunting party to track dinosaurs et al...

By the way, don´t the Baboons give a whole new meaning to the phrase "spank the monkey"? ;)

If you want some background for baboon behavior for your games, you could read "Almost Human" by Shirley Strum, or "Sex and Friendship Among Baboons" by an author whose name I can't remember.  Well, maybe not... unless you're an anthropology student...

Maybe green balls, glowing with eerie light from within (ie, jade green base highlighted up with white)? Just take care his stare doesn´t look like a mint 50s Cadillac afterwards. :D

Great painting, though, as usual.[/quote]

Don't need to sorry Grimm, I don't mind critic  :)

The sword is rusty, bit I guess now not enough rusty.

Clothes are maybe too clean, I thought it too, I will try it with some darker tones next time

Yup, those white flimsies provide for better contrast - the bone colour/off white is a bit nondescript for my taste.
