Blue moon from Old Glory UK has a guy that could be a bald barber but its part of a set of Tombstone civilians for £30

I cannot see myself buying the set, but you have certainly given me an idea with that link, so much appreciated.

lol
It is rather dangerous being the sheriff Mason. I hear it is much safer being the deputy as he gets shot less. Or so Mr Marley tells me.

Sounds like a barrel of laughs all around. This colonial certainly wishes his commonwealth 'lords' a jovial day at the upcoming gala.

Thanks, Matt.
The emphasis will be on having a laugh, certainly, with a healthy dose of backstabbing and probably a little bit of picking on the usual suspects thrown in for good measure.
 ;)

Ha! You will never find anything even remotely awesome enough to replace me!
lol
I want to be in charge of the paint store. That's the first real chemistry!

Dont you worry, I have plans for the Crazy Viking.
And he wont be getting a store, either.
That would be far too sensible for his shenanigans.

Big Rocks!!.....Upsheet Creek for BLAM 2014 UD:20/05

I wanted to have as many possible settings for scenarios for our Old West games and decided that we needed more options for scenarios set outside of town.

Having watched a few westerns lately and seen so many different options, one of the classic settings was the shoot-out in the rocky canyon.

Seeing as I already had a few rocks I was determined  get some more.

Aquarium 'rocks' were the obvious answer but I have had trouble finding more that would fit the bill.

Bearing this in mind, I recently ordered the Gale Force 9 Badlands Bluff and Badlands Plateau scenery items after seeing some of the other fellas on here using them and being fairly impressed with the look of them, I thought that they would do nicely.

They arrived this morning, but I was not too happy with the straight out of the box look, especially as my missus commented that they looked more than a little like a pile of cow-pats....!

I could see what she meant, this lovely brown colour would have to go.

They also needed to fit in with my existing scenery, so this evening I had a go at repainting them.

I have painted both of them, but only had time to finish adding the scenic crap to one of them.

Here is that one:

It has a nice look to it, with 'steps' built in to enable figures to be able to 'climb' to the summit.

The reverse side is a little boring in comparison, but does show the striations in the colouring...

I used my usual colour palette that I utilise for natural stone beginning with Burnt Umber, up through Yellow Ochre and eventually to White on the extremities.

I shall finish the other one tomorrow.

(Here's hoping that everyone has become tired with the 'rock' jokes too....).

Now that is spot on; beautiful job Paul. I'm sorely tempted myself, increasingly so now I've seen yours.

Thank you, CV.

I was unsure about them at first, but having seen them so many times on here, I eventually caved in.
I know that you could make your own, but the time saved made them well worth it.

I have to say that I was also really surprised at the heft of them.
I was expecting them to feel like my aquarium rocks and therefore need basing.
They certainly do not.

Which is a bonus.

:D Glad to see you finally caved in to the GF9 rocks lol

You done a cracking job on that one and as always you've gone one step beyond just tarting it up a bit.

I've been keeping  a selection of these and some aquarium rocks on my eBay watch list for some time. I suppose I'd better buy them soon as I may need them for BLAM. Yours certainly looks good (mine will need repainting too to fit in). June will probably be rock month for me.

Anybody know why the little Badlands rocks are impossible to get?

Thanks, Paul.
It seems we have the same approach as my 'watch list' had a load of aquarium stuff on it for ages.
These rocks, bearing in mind their size and solidity, are pretty good value, and they should see plenty of different uses.

No idea.
I cannot find any on sale anywhere at the moment, hence my ad in the 'Wanted' section of the Bazaar.
If I find a source I will let you know.

Guess What???

Yep, more rocks....!

Finished the other one....

The reverse side....

And both of them together....

I am very happy with them and now just need to try and get my hands on some of the smaller Badlands Rocks to finish things off.

Very nice...my only beef is that unless you have other rocks you really need several of the big ones to cover any part of a table.  However, great stuff and while they're a bit specific, I'm sure I'll end up using them in other theaters too.

That's big ballast Paul, not sure a train track will fit over that  ;D I think the missus was right about it being easily confused with a dries cow pat, I'm glad the new pj has moved away from poo brown. :D

You have a nice selection of terrain to choose now :)

Those are very, very nice 'rocks' - or are they 'mini-buttes'? Or are they mesas?
