Very nice paint job on one of my troopers  8)
It's easy for the real 1880s look cavalry to look Hollywood as I reckon that in Hollywood's hey-day that's what they based all their US cavalry on, whether actually 1880s or as far back as 1850s and anything between  :D
I wouldn't be surprised if the big film companies had bought up a load of army surplus left in storage from the 1890s. Not so far stretched when you see ads in old 1950s shooting magazines for original surplus Springfields going for $7 to $15  :'(
My reproduction one in .45-70 cost me rather a lot more when I bought it in the late 80s (1980s that is  lol)

I can hear them singing 'Garryowen', and the jingling of the harness as the column canters gaily out through the gates of the fort, right now...
'Forward - ho!'
:)

Very nice paintwork Jeff.

Should there be a yellow stripe down the side of the breeches, or is that pure Hollywood I'm misremembering?

I did look forward to painting these myself, but need them done soon rather than wait until I can get around to painting them.
Jeff is doing a wonderful job and I am looking forward to getting hold of them.
 :D

Jeff tells me that he has already painted the stripes on them.
No flies on him.

As Mama has so kindly pointed out ( ;D), time is running short, so I am making a start on the railroad station and another building today.

The second building was a nice surprise gift from Bobble (nice bloke, that Bobble fella  :D. Cheers, mate!) and will mean that another BLAM attendee will be having a building named after him.
It also has a really nice feature built in that will add nicely of the game.

(Bobble will have a building named after him at a later date, as the building he made me is perfect, bearing in mind the username of the intended recipient.  ;))

I had better get to it, then.....

Haven't you made the Black Hills of Dakota yet?  ;)

I've been consuming prodigous quantities of 'Hell on Wheels' via Amazon Prime, just to get in the Old West mood. I'm halfway through season two already... Very much recommended if you like cowboys, Indians, Jonny rebs and choo-choo trains.
Not quite 'Deadwood', but somewhat similar in places...
