Article in Wargames Illustrated 331... The Town of Upsheet Creek UD:30/04
« Reply #2280 on: 30 April 2015, 03:45:32 PM »
I have just read the article about Upsheet Creek in Wargames Illustrated Issue 331.

It was written after one of the WI staff came to BLAM'14 and saw the game.
He asked me to write a piece for the magazine about it when I bumped into him at SELWG the following day.

I am a little surprised that is pretty much exactly as I wrote it.
I cannot be too bad when it comes to writing these kind of things then.
Pretty chuffed with that.
 :D

There will be a couple of follow-up articles to come later in the year.

Acknowledgement: All the photos in the article were taken by the esteemed Captain Blood at BLAM.
Thanks for letting me use them, sir.
Much appreciated.
 :D

It is also a great article but I see you made no mention of 'fisting' - wonder why ::)

You should, mate.
You do get credit where it is due.

Well done mate.

Cheers, Steve.
It wouldn't have worked with just anyone being there.
You were all responsible for me enjoying the day as you all seemed to embrace the spirit that was intended.

Congrats Paul - Upsheet is even MORE famous!

Thanks, chaps.
Much appreciated.
 :)

There will be another article in due course, but it wont be published for some time.
In the meantime, there are a last few things to do to finish things off at the Creek before BLAM this year.
Not a lot, but enough for me to consider things 'finished' so that I can move on to the next proper project.

I can't remember if Upsheet has got a printing press / newspaper building, if not it'd be a good edition to the town.

And yes that was an exceedingly poor joke but adding a news building could be fun  :D
My LAF Gallery is HERE

Ahh! That'd explain why I couldn't find the article in the Miniature Wargames I bought  ::)

Congrats on the featured article Paul, need to check if I can find that magazine hereabouts  8)

Besides the printing press (which is very cool idea me thinks), did you already have a Chinese laundry? Prospector's office or whatcmacallit?

UC is such a big town it's starting to be difficult to remember everything you have build so far :D

I echo all of the above.  Praise where praise is due.  Great article but an even better thread.  I occasionally go back over bits and have myself a chuckle.  Well done.
