Ooooh. I hadn't thought about that...
Maybe three figures plus a gun affixed to a 20mm washer base, so they can be used on board or brought ashore?
Or maybe the guns and crews would be better on rectangular bases?

Am not keen on square edge bases for unregimented folk!

It will be a bit fiddly but depending on the ship(s) you buy it might be possible to fix a cannon at the edge of a washer so that it lines up with a gun hatch for on ship action. I have to conduct some experiments.
