Hmn, I may just go back and redo that Enclave Eyebot. Its missing its laser and I feel that its a bit dated looking now compared to my newer stuff (it was one of the first models that I painted as part of this stuff). The other one I had looked better too, so that one was always the shoddy looking one of the pair. =P

All that was involved was cutting the corner connection tabs off of two of the side pieces. See those orange girder things in the corner? Yeah they're covering the leftover tabs that I didn't cut off. I had to create two new wall sections for the sides too, which involved cutting out bits of plasticard then emulating the existing wall pattern with some clay. With the roof you could just take another sheet of plasticard and add a rim to it plus some vents maybe, rather than the frame thing I went for.

So if you can cut off those tabs, measure out the new bits and are capable of playing about with clay a bit then its doable. I'm fairly lazy, so aye, I wouldn't say it was much of a stretch to do. A point though, see that rear wall? See the vents? Aye I just ignored them when making the interior as the vents that I have are a bit too large, but if you care about consistency then you may want to scratch build what's connected to those in the interior. That or just cover up those parts of the interior wall with cupboards or something.

I think Ainsty Castings do a full Diner interior in case you want to just buy the pieces rather than making them. I mean the counter, etc too, not just the booths. My club has one, but I haven't looked at it in ages since I haven't had the time to turn up there as often and well when I do I bring along my own stuff.

That expanded diner is awesome. Almost goes without saying that I may need shamelessly copy it, like the other five people who've made that comment before me. Great stuff.

hear, hear !

Also, no problem with eurosong shite as I never watch or listen to it and the somewhat less commercial radio station I tune in to doesn't play it (except perhaps to ridicule that whole political BS)  :D

Hmm mm that's tough,  how big are the diner sets? They would look cool, but if you can bot then fit some of the bigger models in then I say no. The diner already looks great as is. No need to add an thing more. But maybe on set of booth seats in a corner,  or maybe a out door set might work if you want more seating.
As for ideas for next week....Maybe more Ceasars Legion? Or some more raiders?  Or how about some none combatants.

@ clanmac

And out of the cracks comes everyone who's bought one of those diners, plus everything else that Plasticville's came out with. :)

@commissarmoody

I think the Ainsty booths are probably too large for me, but I'll check when I go to my club next. The next show isn't for a while yet, so I have plenty of time to ponder the matter before I see Ainsty Castings next. I may add some laser cut tables and chairs, and just not glue them in as if they don't work for the diner I'll just use them for something else. What I would like to add would be a few rusted tin cans and a Nuka Cola Vending machine by the counter however (wonder if Messyart ever finished his).

Eww, non-coms. :D

I liked those Caesar's Legion that I saw that were made from Uruk-Hai Scouts actually, and I will say that I need to redo the  NCR and Legion models that I have (there's a few new NCR soldiers that I started somewhere actually). Though I prefer having generic models so I can use them wherever, which is why I have so many Raiders and Mercenary types about.

Yes non-coms are annoying,  always with the don't blow up are town,  don't steal are women and please don't take are cattle. But some times they have knowledge of new tech or medical to patch the boys up.

Yeah, the diners are all coming into our minds since you did yours, aren't they.  I have mine half-finished somewhere around here.

You just need a refrigerator, next.

Yup, managed to buy lots of 2nd hand plasticville before US postal rates went through the roof : diner, bank, hospital (with all the extras), ranch, 2 barns, school, airport terminal + 2 airplane hangars, tv-station post office and a small platform with awning for a train station.  ;D
Still would like the town hall, appartements, hobo huts, farm set (with the windmill), motel and ice cream stand...  ::)

Well I've started on some Caesar's Legion taking WulframMors' idea from his Ain't that a kick in the head thread, where he used Games Workshop Lord of the Rings Uruk-Hai scouts for his Legionnaires. As I'm now working on a smaller scale than I was the first time I made some Legion models all I have is six of the guys right now. Four machetes, a rifle carrying scout and a shotgunner. Stick them in with some dogs and maybe the odd model from what i have already and there's a decent sized side for a game. ...Just as long as they aren't all gunned down by the NCR's rifles (like happened in every other game I ran with those two sides. The others had the Legion charge the NCR and just mince them because they were so over powered in close combat).

WulframMors thread: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=63394.0

I'm pondering what models from my existing Legion set I can salvage.

The Centurion, even though he's a bit smaller than the other models. I feel like I should go back and make another one.

The odd things you find on the Nexus...

The female Legionnaire? She was more of an exercise in sculpting than a canon model though.

This veteran? He's really more of a mercenary type though, and the only think that links him to the faction is that he's wearing red.

And my efforts bear fruit...

Clammy radioactive fruit. ;)

Aye I was going to leave posting this till later, but I decided to stop making any more Legion models for the moment. I started off making six of those Uruk-Hai Legionnaire models, but after three I looked at them and thought "OK, Games Workshop's Lord of the Ring's line aren't as bad as their regular stuff, but these models still manage to look squat and chunky". So I finished those three, and pulled out some of those old and dependable Wargames Factory sprues (which I seriously somehow have some left of...).

So here's what I have at the moment in a WIP stage. Three regular Legionnaires (well one's probably scout given the hood) and a Veteran with a Sledgehammer. Despite, and well this is assumption, the Southern states preferring Football over Baseball (hey I was always better at baseball than rugby at school) the Veteran's wearing a set of baseball catcher gear (like the Diamond City guard that I made) as I thought it would be interesting, and still fit the style of the faction.

So that's four Legionnaires for the moment to be worked on. Like I posted above I can probably nab one or two other models from my existing Legion set, though yes I'd rather be using my newer stuff, just in case I need more to field a complete side of these guys. Besides those, when looking for the Uruk-Hai I came across a box of terrain that I'd lost ages ago. Just bits and pieces, mostly computers and tape machines, but there were some refuse skips in there half painted that I could probably have a go at finishing soonish. But aye, first its going to be the Legionnaires. ...Even if there is a new game coming out and they're a faction from the last one. ;)

Did you get ride of the rest of your old Legion figs?
Or am I miss reading what you posted?
the new Legion figs look cool so far, but I might borrow a little bit of the idea from WulframMors and try out some of those Mad Robot Sadoukadi Heads. If they work out fine on my War Games factory Romans.

Most of the older models that I made for this are now piled up in a few trays. I haven't thrown them out, but they rarely see the light of day anymore. So I still have them, but I don't like how they look anymore. I sift through those piles every now and then and pull out something that I can salvage and repaint a bit, but by and large I've written that stuff off. Sad to say then, but a lot of the stuff from the first few pages of this thread I don't bother with anymore. =P

I'll probably sell it all off at my club one day along with the bits of terrain I don't like anymore too.

Mad Robot Miniature's make their models scaled to fit Games Workshop ones. Bear in mind then that they're going to be larger than your average 28mm model, so may look weird if you stick them on another manufacturer's stuff. Find a GW head and test fit that first before you go wait a few weeks on an order from that company. I'd just take a regular head, stick on a rough piece of cloth about the mouth and stick on two circles for the goggles though. Save the effort of having to order them. ;)

Yeah probably right, got a few heads setting around that should work anyways. Now one thing I am thinking of trying is taking a few of my wargames factory roman cav and trying to salvage them by giving them a Cesar Legion treatment. might make good scouts or some flanking element. Fingers crossed on that.

I bought a few of the Perry Civil War cavalry models ages ago to use as NCR and Legion cavalry. That never went anywhere however, though they would fit in with the world (even though the original games say horses went extinct, All Roads shows the NCR has a cavalry division). Yeah they'd suit the Legion as Scouts, though I don't picture them so much as front line units. My knowledge of the real Roman legions is vague, but however they fielded them (presumably mostly as flanking units) is what I'd do with them in Fallout. However as you're not fighting massive battles you could really do whatever you like with the handful of horses you field.

Personally, like bikes and vehicles, I'm not so sure about using them in games myself. As models can be knocked off their horses or dismount that means you need two models for everyone, and that doesn't cover unmounted models jumping on someone else's horse (though I guess you could just say "you lack the riding skill to do that"). Too many ideas not enough time anyhow. =P

Yeah the NCR has cav. I ordered the New Vegas special edition when it first came out and the comic that came with it show NCR cavalry riding down and shooting Khans at the Bitter Springs massacre. So I see no problem with limited mounted actions.  So mounted legion scouts, messangers or the odd bold flanking maneuver to get a better position is not out of the question. But I would keep it to main factions like NCR cav or some group and mostly use them as fast easy to shoot infantry with temperamental mounts when facing mutants and robots.
I also like the idea of using dirt bikes and other mad maxed style vehicles,  up to and including vertabirds. With in reason to the scale of the game of course. A War Rigg would murder most raider gangs so not much point in playing that sort of game.
