More with Miss Rossum
« on: 18 November 2013, 05:40:03 AM »
Well, here's the first part of what I promised you. More fiction from my Victorian London steampunk setting. (I really need to come up with a title for this little project.) Miss Rossum has something on her mind, and it could be a game-changer.

Here's a direct link to the post on my blog, "Dispatches from the Rim":

Thank you, Craig. I hope it indeed felt like a reward in this busy week of yours.

And while I appreciate the descriptor "young," I feel it's belied by the fact that there's only 9 years' difference in our ages! :)

So I was serving in the Royal Navy before you left Junior School... you are indeed young  ;)

Ah, true. And if you met me, you'd think I was younger still. Each time I got divorced (twice) I kind of pushed reset on my life, and it's kept me young. Or at least, I have a young perspective -- childlike, I'd say. Whereas others would say childish. Or just juvenile. Or immature. Whatever.

Whereas I'm eight older than you...  ;)

Gives me an excuse for a second childhood; truth be, I've lost count.

@Eisenfaust  I've oft found separating the VSF and Gothic horror, aside from any Lacepunk trappings, a tricky business. You aren't making it ANY easier...  lol

Well, Beast, I must say that I think it's because I'm a native of the American South ... I like a little of the Gothic and grotesque mixed into everything.

I too am enjoying my "second childhood," especially as I seem to have missed my first. Psychologically  I, like Merlin, was born much older than I am right now.

DUDE!!    o_o

This is a great lead-in to whatever you have in store.

Between you and Atomic Floozy over at THW forum I am getting those play the game/tell the story vibes full power... waiting to see you shift to overdrive.

Wow.   8)

Gracias,

Glenn

Thank you, Glenn. I'm flattered!

Shift into overdrive ... OK, with encouragement like this it certainly is going to be easier to do so. I'll have to go over to the Two Hour Wargames forum and check out Atomic Floozy's work, too.

Again, thanks and glad you're enjoying it!
