The Full Hergé
« on: 10 December 2013, 01:29:28 AM »
It's not at the top of my leagues to make, but they're a very good candidate for a smaller league (I am guilty of planning some bigger leagues and realized I will need smaller ones for learning with). If I wanted to make a straight adaptation of the Tintin gang, who makes the appropriate minis? I don't mean our own LAF post-apocalyptic version, but the "regular" ones.

Copplestone has a not-Tintin & not-Snowy and there's a few enemies in a pack by Hinterland (Allan!). Who makes a Captain Haddock & Professor Calculus? Maybe the Thom(p)sons?

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

For Haddock, you may find a good one in Artizan's Merchant Sailors or Blue Moon's Captain Josiah packs.

Drawing a blank on the others.

Had a look, sadly there's nothing close for the Captain (who's easily the most important one to find). Captain Josiah is a short and very stocky fellow, with a different sort of face, big heavy boots and a deeply ribbed shirt. Artizan's few merchantmen all have a German flavour to them and wear buttoned-up coats.

I was actually amazed that Bob Murch didn't have anything close, given he has more than a half-dozen merchant seamen packs.

I actually spent a bit of time going down the full manufacturer list. It might come to having to do a couple conversions.

Tintin is from Copplestone Figures.
Captain Haddock is a Brigade Games figure with a head swap from another, they're both merchant seamen. I've given him a bren gun.
The Thompson Twins are two Winston Churchill figures from Amazon Miniatures (with Thompsons). I added the walking sticks and removed the cigars.
Calculus is a WestWind London Detective (Jack the Ripper set) with added umbrella.

I saw those Brigade sailors! I don't know about picking up two full packs to make just one character though. Have to think about that.

That Calculus is perfect though! The Thom(p)sons look good too.

Indeed! That's some excellent work.  :-*

@ FF -- The extra sailors could probably be worked in to other leagues, or they could be used as Backup, or they could be used as 'plot point' markers for scenarios.

By the way Matakishi, where did you get the Umbrella you added to Calculus? Did you sculpt it yourself?

Some great Haddocks there. Get them altogether for an identity parade!

That's alright... probably not the hardest thing in creation to make from scratch.

One of the clix ranges has a Penguin with usuable brollies. They're plastic, I got 3 figures for a quid fifty.
