Serpent/snakemen?
« on: December 18, 2013, 06:11:03 AM »
Does anyone know where I can get some good snakemen type miniatures from. I'm after ones with a snake bottom half and snake head. (Snake to half and legs would just look stupid).
Any ideas. I know the reaper bones has a few but I'm after a variety.
Thanks.

Edit: also found reapers nagendra which look pretty good, if pricey

Try a forum search, but recently:

I forgot about mierce, so are they now a reputable company with the name change? Maybe I'll look into a retailer for them.  Thanks, now to have a good look through that other link.

I haven't heard anything bad about Mierce recently, since the whole Maelstrom fiasco, and I haven't heard of anyone really disappointed by their KS campaigns either (though admittedly I have not been looking either).  That being said, I ordered from Maelstrom for several years without problems before it imploded...

They are very nice figures, its just that you are supporting the owner by buying them.  Personal choice.  ;)

There are several in the Legend of the 5 Rings range of miniatures, in the Naga Clan.  Samurai themed, but some don't have any distinctive armor.

Strange Aeons has a set of figures which would make a nice sorcerer plus acolytes:

Believe you can get the Grenadier Cthulhu ones from Mirliton these days. Reaper has some large ones that are a bit sloppy and loose in the sculpting, but some charm. I really like their especially large leader, Po Wi Set, who is a yet-to-be-introduced deity of some kind in my D&D campaign setting.

Those are quite nice. I've seen them before and been impressed.

Not a big fan of the tekumel ones, the arms remind me of tentacles instead of snakiness (?) but thanks :)

Take a look on Chronopia Stygians. Some of them are snake tail type, other ones are quadripede lizards. One of my favourite lezard men range.

That's cause they are tentacles!  8)

(Not the octopus or squid sort, of course.)
