I must admit, I'm in the habit of jumping into crowd funding projects then regretting it bitterly in the cold light of day. On the other hand though I really do wish I'd got involved with this particular one.  :(

Great sculpts and steady progress with the project from Rich and Mike.

I look forward to the stuff coming out on general release.(After you lucky pledgers have had yer fill.)

It's great to see a Post Apocalyptic UK for once.

Hi there, just thought I'd reply that it's really lovely to read things like this! Sorry you missed out on the KS. We're taking pre-pre-orders informally and the pre-order shop will be fully functional - like a Death Star - really soon. I'm also hopeful that we will beat the original targets set so everything may be on general release sooner than initially anticipated. It is, of course, when people say things like this that everything has a tendency to go wrong!  lol

In the meantime, here's an insight into what's been going on with ADE:

Lots of sculpts:

a few production metals, which I can't link to right now for some reason but will put up later, graphics for the Event and Rare Item cards, more playtesting and rule-tweaking, and a couple of beautiful pieces of artwork for the rule book!

Updates are posted to the main site www.deadearth.co.uk bur probably more regularly to our Facebook page.

Thanks again to everyone at Lead Adventure for their support in this project!

The latest sculpt from Andrew is the first of The State troopers, and a corker it is too

Oh, now I like that sculpt. I haven't been very endeared to the style that your miniatures have had previously, but I think that one's not too bad at all. =)

Personally I rather like the sculpting style. It is a bit retro when compaired to the latest trend to have more realistically proportioned minis, bit I think that they will stand up well next to existing post-apoc ranges like foundry, copplestone, grenadier, necromunda etc.
Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

I would say the current trend is for disproportionately tall, long legged figures rather than "realistically" proportioned, which then does indeed make the ranges you've mentioned look short-legged. People's average proportions are that their body is around three times the length of their head, and their legs are about the same, adding up to a person being "7 heads" tall. There has always been a tendency in art of all kinds for heroic characters to appear much taller, and long legs are considered attractive, so this is hardly surprising. Some figures out now have legs which are 5-7 heads long! Which is fine, and there are some beautiful figs in those ranges, but I do think it's a matter of taste and trend rather than right or wrong.
